I have had the CD for a few weeks. I had a few doubts about the decision. I really don't like Mike Jones? for his lyrics, and Paul Wall is not too bad, so I thought Chamillionaire would be a flop. My god. This man is a breath of fresh air for me. His vocal and lyrical talents are phenomenal. The album opens with "The Sound of Revenge", a bass-laden melody introducing the new face of the game. In all, this album was worth every penny. This is the first CD I have bought in years.

    A+

Great album, he's easily the best talent Houston has today, and he's very creative with his lyrics and melodies. Chamillionaire is great, and I am betting that he will have the longest 'staying power' on the national stage because he's easily the best talent. Paul Wall was good when Cham was around, but he's been recently getting on my nerves with his repeated lyrics in every record he makes, seems like he's run out of stuff to rhyme about much like his buddy Mike Jones.

Bun B, Cham, Scarface are the only Houston talents that matter, IMO.

If you like lyrics check out K-Rino and his latest album... You wont be dissapointed. The production has some work to do though

Also, no love for Z-Ro or Trae?

The sound of revenge is very average compared to what he's done in the past. If you get chamillitary vol 1 or mixtape messiah, you'll know what I mean. The best song on the sound of revenge is Ridin Dirty. I mean chamil's been known around houston for a while, but lyrically, he can't compete Killa Kyleon and Magno. Download "Magno - Magnificient Bout His Cash" and you'll see Magno's wordplay. Out of all the "new" well known artists from Houston, chamil is by far the best though.

Z-Ro is one of the greatest unknown talents ever...just like Devin The Dude. People will never appreciate them as much as they should. Z-Ro has written some of the deepest songs, yet he gets no credit when people talk about lyricists. Devin the dude has been in the game for more than 10 years and nobody even knows who he is. Anyway, Trae isn't that good at all....just average IMO.

I love Paul Wall and Chamillionaire. I'm not too big of a Mike Jones fan - I think the music/chopped & screwed style does more than he does for his cuts. And how many times can you repeat the same line?? Geez. :)

Im sorry I love Magno but there is no way he is better lyrically. Dude is good with his punchlines and thats about it. Cham switched his style to speak with more purpose instead of rhyming about rims and grills like everyone else from the south and in doing that improved greatly. Cham, Bun-B K-Rino and Z-Ro are Texas's best.

an A+ album would be Scarface's Diary, The Fix, or Last of a Dying Breed. Also Geto Boys The Ressurection or Grip It on that Other Level.

Chamillionare is an average rapper who makes average music. if there is anyone in houston who can even come close to the same sentence as scarface and the rest of the geto boys is devin the dude and z-ro. also, when pimp c and bun b are together as ugk they are good as well, but bun b just isn't what he can be when solo.

One thing that my girlfriend pointed out to me - he doesn't fully cuss at all on the album. There's still the occasional "*****" and "dick" that would get cut from the radio version, but nothing you couldn't play on prime time TV or post on Clutchfans.

And I have to agree with Got Em on Ridin Dirty. And not just because Krayzie is my all-time favorite artist.

I don't know how anybody can talk about lyricists and leave out Prince Markie D from the Fat Boys.

(Prince Markie D): $3.99 for all you can eat?
Well, I'm a stuff my face to a funky beat!

I saw a Paul Wall video on tv the other day. That had to be the dumbest thing I ever saw. Is it one of those "it's so bad, it's good" things? If so I kind of get it. If not... good god.

I think we all know by now that you're not a hip-hop fan and have a unique taste in music. So, if that's the case, you won't like anything that relates to hip-hop.

Me and you have similar favorite artists, apparently. :)

KBone is legendary, and he only makes that record better than it would have been with only Cham on it.

Hey, here's an idea: Cham should join BTNH and replace Bizzie? ;)

That would be awesome. But he really doesn't flow like BTNH.

Then what would his name be? He can't keep Chamillionaire - He needs a bone name, but what? Militarie bone, keeping with the "ie" endings? Or Chamillitary Bone? But that's a bit long...

better than scarface???? please......he's one of the best lyricists in hiphop history, not just the south or houston. i haven't hear him yet, but i definitely will check and see, but i haven't run across many rappers better than face.
