Stockholm, Go to the IceHotel...the whole place is made of ice...they give you a big parka when you walk in to keep warm. I hear the clubs are great too. Havn't been to Finland or Iceland, so I can't say. I've been to Sweden 3 times. Very nice country.

No way...have you had good New York and Chicago pizza? :)

I'm ready to go just for the weather. I'm sick of 80+ degrees in December and January.

Sam, go see the Vasa. The flagship of the Swedish fleet rolled over and sank, right there in the harbor. Hundreds of years later, they pull it up, it's amazingly well preserved, and in it's own museum.

    I really enjoyed seeing this!

This thread needs pictures, and lots of them!!! Faos where are you.
I would go by their respective cultural exports in order to make a decision. Let's see,
Sweden : ABBA, Swedish Bikini Team, Ingrid Bergman,Ingmar Bergman and Ace of Base.
Norway : A-ha,Death Metal and lots and lots of skiing.
Iceland : Bjork and one of the hardest languages ever.
Finland : Leningrad Cowboys,Nokia,Ice Hotels and Air guitar championships.

I got to go with Sweden by 20 lengths......and pictures would be appreciated.

I live in Stockholm and know some of the clubs pretty well. What type of people do you prefer to party with?

    hot ones who want to.....

I'd like to check a bunch out really. We'll probably check out whatever is Stockholms version of a hip velvet rope type establsihment once or twice just for the sake of doing so but otherwise, whatever is most fun.

We are staying at the Grand Hotel in the center of the city btw, do you know where the main nightlife districts are in relation to that?

I'd go to Norway as well just because my great grandfather immigrated to America from Norway. It would be cool to see where my ancestors "chilled"

    Haha a play on words.

Berns and Café Opera will be, as us swedes like to say, within crawling distance. And the Grand is located really nice by the water opposite the royal castle, good choice. A lot of night life around there but my advice would be to take a cab and ask for "Sturecompagniet" or "Köket". Have fun!

The question is not where to go, but where not to go when you have all those fine women.

Sucking at life would be saying an FSU-VaTech National Championship was a lock and guaranteeing UT would lose twice.

You are without question the most pathetic individual I have ever come across.
No, not because you are a homosexual... just because you a moron.

Please do us all a favor and jump off a bridge Christopher.

Oh Good Lord I just saw this thread. First of all, Finland is not even in Scandinavia. Secondly, there is a reason that there are cheap offseason flights over there. It's FREAKING COLD. The beautiful babies in these countries really come out in the summer. I'm surprised that you didn't include Copenhagen in your list, but whatever. Out of the options listed, I'd go to Stockholm, only because it's accessible to excursions in other countries easier than going to Finland and especially Iceland. I've been to Norway, Sweden and Denmark and partied in each country. They're all fun places, but when I was there in the winter it was somewhat dead.

    Texxx, addressing your points:

I'm aware it's cheap because of the offseason, I hate being almost anywhere in the high season anyway. I spent this summer in the Talamaklan desert, for christ's sake. However Stockholm daily temps haave been (and are projected to be) in the 30's for the near term. Not balmy Indochinese climes to which I had become accustomed, but nonetheless not too horrible - NYC average temps would be about the same. (Though not now, it's unseasonably warm up here as of late).

Iceland is arguably not part of it either, but anyway, it made for a more succinct, if geographically presumptuous thread title. Had you read the thread you would see my concerns on that score were voiced.

Copenhagen seemed too continental for my tastes. I vetoed it. But I will look into a ferry ride there.

As the thread indicates, I will indeed be in Stockholm in about 24 hours. While I am in possession of a Timeout:Stockholm, Any input as to where to go will be given due consideration. Obviously the Vasamuseum is a must see.
