Okay, how about a Christian living 30 days as a Muslim.

I saw this when it came out on tv the first time. It's a cool show. Although I thought this guy started making some really sudden turnarounds towards the end of his stay. In fact for the first few episodes, it seemed like everybody on the show completely changed their perspective. It seemed almost rigged, with dramatically unreal turnarounds in attitude. But then in the last few episodes of the season, they had some people go through 30 days and learn a bit, but not necessarily change that much as a person, which is what I would tend to expect.

That 30 Days series by Morgan Spurlock was great. I hope he has a new set of shows this year.

I've only watched half of it so far, but this is great. There's a lot of stuff in there that's more America/New World/Modern Christianity vs. Islam than Christianity vs. Islam. For example, the removal of shoe when entering a house of worship : if you watch many of the elderly Christians in India (and several younger ones for that matter), you'll see them remove their shoes outside the church before entering. Some predominantly Indian churches practice that in the US as well. This is really fascinating stuff. Now to watch the rest of it... :)

lol "Did he just flip me off?"
"No he went like this... it's a peace sign, dude!"

I love how the guy noticed the biggest difference between what he's used to and what he found in the Islamic community he visited in terms of daily life : discipline. It's what I always thought differentiated the 2 cultures/religions and it has a lot more to do than with them being different religions.

Awesome post - how on earth did I miss this?? Cool stuff!

there were some parts that I didnt agree with.

for example the first imam he was talking to just tried to attack his faith over and over and wouldnt really answer the guys question.

the dude was like, im not comfortable praying, and the imam says, HOW CAN THERE BE 2 GODS ON EARTH... i was like wtf... Im glad he went out and found another imam....

bigtexx, i hope you watch this...

This was my most anticipated episode. I couldn't wait to watch it, and I'm glad I did.

I don't understand. Do Christians believe that there are two gods on earth??

Yah, I thought that Imam was a bit of an a-hole as well.

The guy handled it pretty well though throughout, I give him props for that.

Thanks or posting that. It was very enlightening, not so much from the side of Islam ( I knew most those things before) but from the perspective of the way the muslims feel persecuted. To paraphrase the lawyer, as a white american, I feel the need to condemn the ignorance I saw in that piece.

i really liked the whole 30 days series, but the Muslim one was absolutely amazing

I think everyone in the Western world should watch it, it was really crush all the misconceptions and stereotyping that goes on mostly from people who love to make judgements on topics they know nothing about
