Someone Please Start a Petition to fire Casserly addressed to the Texans organization, please. :(

I know NOTHING about starting these petitions, and for the life of me can't think of ALL the bad moves this guy has made, but I know we Texans fans want him gone. I know we can include those in the petition.

Some of the [bill_walton]HORRIBLE, JUST HORRIBLE[/bill_walton] moves he has made that I can remember:
    1. signing No-defense Buchanon
    2. not keeping Aaron Glenn
    3. signing soon-to-be-retired Boselli (I think this was the beginning) to a million-dollar

    Do you remember ANY MORE?

These will help in ANYONE writing the petition on www.petitiononline.com ... I am afraid I will miss some if I write it. With enough signatures, we can at least get the Texans' top office and Mr. McNair's attention.

Would any one of you who like to present arguments (or live in the CF.net D&D :D) like to do that, pretty please?

Thay had to take Boselli if they wanted some of the other Jaguar players that they really wanted (Gary Walker/Seth Payne), part of the stipulation the Jaguars had. Everyone knew Boselli's shoulder was severely messed up and that there was a good chance he wouldn't make it back.

Actually, believe it or not, we gave up an early draft pick (2nd or 3rd rounder...I believe 3rd) for Buchanon.

Now let's be fair...Babin was the first rookie to ever start in the 3-4, so we can cut him a little slack. It only took him 30 games into his career to make any impact. So Casserly still has a chance to get 1 out of at least 8 right!

    Fire his ass!

Casserly single handedly has destroyed the franchise-

After 4 yrs and 37 draft picks he has left us just 2 potential impact playmakers- Andre Johnson and Daunte Robinson.

After 37 draft picks he has given us just 4 quality starters (positions that don't need dramatic upgrade) Johnson, Robinson, Chester Pitts, Carr (if you include him)

There is not one impact playmaker free agent on this team - that after 4 yrs.

Looking at the draft needs of this team we have glaring needs at 11 positions- Tight end, (1) wide receiver, three offensive linemen (and that on the worst passing offense.
At least one decent safety, a cornerback, at least one impact edge pass rusher, a middle linebacker, and two defensive linemen to bolster a middle defense that is the worst against the run in the league.

Add to that wasting several high draft picks-

    3 rd. Seth Wand
    3 rd. Dave Ragone
    3 rd. Charlie Hill
    2 rd. Tony Hollings

Plus he totally gave away 5 first day draft picks to acquire Phillip Buchanon and Jason Babin- Babin shouldn't be starting and Buchanon should not go onto the field.

It has taken Casserly 4 yrs to provide this roster expansion team talent.

We over acheived last season and won 7 games.

We played to the level of our talent this season and won 2.

We have the talent of a 4-6 win team and it is Casserly's fault.

I am stunned at McNair's decision to keep Casserly.

I donot care about the coach getting fired, this is a talent league-

But to keep Casserly only means it will take a couple more yrs of futility and the wasting of draft picks before we can fire him and hopefully get the ship righted.

We may win more games next season, but it will be a long long time before this franchise is in the playoffs.

Do you mind if some of your post's content is taken from here to create the petition? These points sound like what I had in mind for the initial petition.

That petition means squat, unless Dan Reeves name is on it.

Reeves doesn't think that most of these were bad picks. He believes that the players did not get proper training/development (coaching staff). I'm not saying that Cass did a good job, but giving another coaching staff a chance with these players next year might yield better results. Maybe not.

Personally, I believe that we can switch to a 4-3 and search for a DE and a CB in the draft. Perhaps find a LB in free agency (not sure what's available).

On offense, if we don't drop McKinney, the left side showed improvement of late. The right side needs at least a RT and some depth. Weigert is a better guard than tackle. I don't think he has good enough lateral movement to be a very good pass blocker.

That's right, 3 players in the draft. The rest should come in free agency. I'm not a fan of drafting a mess of youth (except on depth), because it prolongs the progress.

    IMO

Those petitions are the biggest waste of time. But if it makes you feel better, go for it.

Yeah, it will accomplish nothing. Look at what the Detroit Lions fans are doing to Millen and he still won't be fired.

The best we can hope for that with a new coach Casserly will start making better moves. If not he'll be gone next year.

    Go for it.

I don't think Casserly was objectively evaluated.

    Politics?

Anyone who thinks this roster has the talent we should after four seasons does not know how important playmakers are to a team.

Just look at the player moves others teams have made in the last 4 seasons- Steelers, Cinn., KC, N England, Wash, Dallas, NY Giants, Denver, San Diego etc etc etc.

The NFL is a talent driven league and our talent is no better today than it was 4 yrs ago on opening night against the Cowboys.

Fire Casserly or pay the price a couple more seasons.

Exactly, Casserly is our GM. All we can do is hope for a better year next year. If Casserly is telling the truth about the coaches heavily influencing the picks, well maybe he will do better next year with a new head coach. b****ing about it now isn't going to change anything. Secondly, who else are you going to get?

You don't consider Domanick Davis a quality starter?

Aside from the terrible draft selections, let's not forget the way he ignored our major problem - offensive line - in an offseason when everyone and their sisters knew we were desperate for some help. Hell, not just this offseason, but every offseason since the first when David Carr was getting sacked in record fashion!

Yes I do that was an omission, mistake on my part.

Make that 5 quality starters out of 37 draft picks and all the free agents.
