Hey everyone ... Happy New Year!!! Hope things are starting off great for all of you. So I just got back from Morocco a few days ago, and of course ... the pics were taken with reckless abandon; in excess of 1200 this time around. Can be found: here As always, I'm hoping everyone likes them, and if you do, please feel free to share. Thanks for taking a look ... enjoy!
Tmac ... it's a Pentax *istD Cohen: Yes, the first 2 pages or so is the King Hassan II Mosque. It is absolutely spectacular, 2nd only to either the Mecca/Madina mosques. I think I need to caption these before posting ... would help to know what you're looking at And thank YOU guys for taking the time to see them ...
rockit- What the hell is it that you do? That's a lot of grand trips you've taken in the past year. Color me envious.
I'm a pimp, and I go around every few months looking for beautiful women to bring back to the rich Saudis!!! See here. Moroccan women are sooooo amazingly beautiful, WOW! Seriously tho, I'm a regular programmer, but since I work in Riyadh, this is one of your perks for being away from home. They give you a 10 days vacation (in addition to your 3 weeks annual leave) every 3 months to go wherever you please ... fully paid! Most of the guys I work with are old enough to be my dads, so they mostly go back state-side to see their families ... I just travel here and there seeing new places. Already planning next year ...
Awesome Rockit! I was there in 2000. Tell us about the trip. If you label the pics, post here so I can take another look.
Amazing pics, are you a pro or what? Morocco is absolutely stunning, the mixture of antiquity with modernity -- with a mixture of exotic -- is just breathtaking. There is so much history there, an incredibly rich culture, and very interesting and friendly people and sights to see. Great stuff man, and if you label those pictures, please repost the link because I will certainly be taking another look.
That is definetly one of the pluses of living in Saudi. I grew up in Dhahran, and fly back anually. When I was young we used to fly all over every year. Loved those Asia trips the best. Anyways, I never really worked there. Just summer jobs, but my dad is the one who has been working there since '89. I'm hoping to get a job over there, it would be a dream come true.
Nice pics...Daddy likey the belly dancers... I had a chance to go to Morocco for work a few years back and had a previous committment and didn't go...I could kick myself in the ass...I would like to go there...
Tell me it's MEXICO or I shall fight you. jk. Seriously, though, consider visiting my country. It is full of photogenic scenery. Since you like buildings and architectural items, shall I present Exhibit A?
Nice pics man and thanks for sharing. The country looks amazing and the mosques are beautiful. I had the pleasure of going to Israel and Turkey this past summer and your pictures reminded me alot of Istanbul. The mosques there are awesome, and there were many bazarres and markets with lots of products for sale. How are the people there? I found the people in Turkey to be very friendly. In Israel, people are nice but have a different attitude. They seem very rough by the way they speak and act, but are genuinely kind. Thanks again for sharing.
Terrific stuff. I was there back in the 90's, and absolutely had a great time. Thanks for posting the pics.
Cohen: no, not in Meixoc City. I was born and raised until 12 in a border town called Reynosa. Came here in '86. I have been to Teotihuacan and, let me tell you, I was in AWE at the magnificent buildings.
i loved the pics from hyderabad... nice if you can get pics of the mamlaka and thefaisaliya, that would be awesomenesss
Thank you all so much for the comments! I wasn't sure if I should post the link over and over again, but it's good to know it's welcome tigermission1: I wish I was a pro, and could do this for a living. I'm no where close to being a pro, but the I think the destinations are so beautiful to begin with, it's hard not to get a good shot. And you are so right about the meshing of old and new in Morocco, it's really beautiful. The variety is also wonderful ... you get everything. Rivaldo2181: The people are very nice, and very helpful. They'll ask where are you from, and then they'll try to say something in your language, it's really sweet. The custom of offering tea and making their home yours is also absolutely true. They seem to go out of their way to help you out. rrj_gamz: The scary thing is these ladies would be considered the average, so-so variety. The women are extremely beautiful, and even the men are quite handsome - good looking race overall. Mulder: Thank God for that too ... it was my first time trying it, and it was awesome. After 4 joints, I was so tripped up ... my friends had a ball with it jamma34: Replied to your email. adeelsiddiqui: I'd love to take pics of downtown Riyadh, but have heard some horror stories of Westerners being jailed for taking pics, so I'm going to lay low, however, tomorrow I'll be going desert trekking, so maybe I'll post those pics on here again ... if it's ok SwoLy-D: I'd love to travel to those parts, but in a few years' time. My reasoning is that that part of the world I can easily tour when I'm back in the US ... so I'm trying to see the far off places on the company tab for now. But I'll be there for sure ... it's one of my top places, esp Teotihuacan. Thanks everyone! Captions are done. They're not very detailed, but you'll know what you're looking at!
