Honestly, were the sex scenes really necessary? Now I guess we wait for Mel GIbson's response film. By the way, Apocalypto looks ****ing ridiculous.
The best part of the movie was when the Jewish assasins killed the American women when she was naked. Badass!
I thought it was a very good flick and very even handed in it's handling of both sides. I think the point of the movie was more about the pointlessness of the back and forth between the 2 goverments. Blood begets blood and so on and so on, never ends. Excellent movie IMO
heres a clue for you. if you want to keep this thread out of D&D, don't make comments like: Keep your opinions about the context to yourself and make more comments about the movie like this: Don't try to handcuff people by making a polarizing comment and then saying people shouldn't do likewise.
you make a half-assed comment about a poster who is generally pretty rational about things. I dont think I'm the only one who sees it that way. You dont have that many posts since you signed up, I wish you had kept it that way.
I am interested in seeing the movie though. Eric Bana is a good actor, and the buzz round the movie is pretty decent. I like longer movies myself (as long as it's done properly), since I think it makes me more attached to the characters. Spielberg is one of my favorite director/producers, so I doubt he'll disappoint. I can only hope there isnt as much preaching as some people seemed to have indicate. Too many good movies have been ruined by preaching.
It is a great movie and I highly recommend it. On the other hand, it is important to take the movie at face value. It is obvious that Spielberg has a message he is trying to preach, something along the lines of "violence begets violence". However, I don't think that the movie is being used to defame the Israeli and Americans. Regardless, if you go in and expect an entertaining movie, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
that poster you talk about always attacks my religion, take a look in the d&d, and i cant rebuttle, and i didnt know that me having a low post count means i am not entitled to my opinion moron
plenty of people attack each other's religion, it doesn't mean you have to say those kinds of things back at them. I might not like certain posters who always got something to say about Christianity, but I wont call them what you called them, ESPECIALLy if they're rational about it. As for the low post count thing, I didn't say you weren't entitled to your opinion.
I've been pretty rude lately, so I can't complain about someone coming back at me. I also thought the "drama queen" pic in the other thread was pretty funny.
