2005 EV1.net Houston Bowl TCU Vs. ISU 1:30PM 12/31 Reliant Stadium Just curious, how many of you are going to the game? Who do you support?
Tha wife and friends are Froggies, my tics are free so I'll be there. Probably the only one on this board though.
I'm going. I get to have a great sports week that week. Texans, Rockets, Alamo Bowl, and Houston Bowl all in a week. Then I tap the keg for January 2-4! I'll be rooting for the Cyclones. I think it should be a pretty good game.
I got tix last year to the bowl for free, I will try again this year. Last year's game was really entertaining, hopefully this year's will be too.
Since practically my whole family is TCU alums and my alma mater has been awful in football since we joined the Big 12 (Baylor), I've been a huge Frogs fan for the past 10 years or so. We just got our ticlets a week ago so we will definitely will be there wearing the purple and the white. TCU has had a phenomenal season this year, but for the most part has been off the national media's radar (except for the win against OU). So it should be fun to see them cap off a stellar season with another win against a Big 12 school, and with some help, maybe finish the year Top 10. Still, can't help but wonder how unbelievable the seson could have been if they hadn't taken off the second game against SMU......
I went the last two years but I'm not sure if I'll go this year. I hate paying $20 at the gate or whatever the price was for parking.
I got 4 tixs to give away, if u can meet me around Galleria area before 12, there yours, these are SWEET end zone seats (Sec 117) I believe, so yea, their your's if your interested, just promise me that you are indeed going.
Hey Dave2000. You still got the 4 end zone tickets available? I can meet you right now in the Galleria area if you are around this morning. I will send you a quick e-mail. Thanks for the offer. Peace, Ron
Was supposed to be at the game but had to drive my parents to the Houston channel, so they could board their NCL cruise ship. So I had to stop at Buffalo's to watch the game. Got back a few minutes ago and now watching it at home. Teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Ceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!
Been watching this game, not a bad matchup. Anyone else here the announcers, when asking the sideline reporter about an ISU injury, say this: "Suzie, what have you found out about Hick's groin?" LOL!
The Defensive End for TCU Tommy Blake went to my High School in Aransas Pass, Tx: He was then a great running back and then I saw him at End and wow he looked pretty good. This is from the local paper: A former standout at Aransas Pass, Blake earned first-team all-state honors by The Associated Press and All-South Texas offensive MVP honors by the Caller-Times in his senior season. At running back, Blake rushed for 2,013 yards and scored 25 touchdowns for then-Panthers coach Guy Grover.
Gary Patterson really has proven to be a really good coach. TCU has only 4 seasons in 108 seasons with 11+wins. 2 of them were under Patterson. By the way, I nearly got my ass kicked when I started a TCU chant at the Village around 1am when I was right next to a table of about 6 guys who were all decked out in ISU crap. They said they came all the way down for the game. I was like, man that must suck.
This would have been a great football game with drastic turnarounds in momentum......but...It was 4 and 1/2 freaking hours long. Every time there was a pause on the field, ESPN must have broken away for a two minute commercial. You almost forgot you were at the game and just started daydreaming about being double teamed by all the rich MILF's and their cute little college girl daughters. (wakes up) It was a great game with lots of big plays and it was fun to there. The Iowa State fans are psycho, they really had fun!.
