need some advice/help. I've just begun a 6 year training regimen for the ironman competition and need some input on what is the most comfortable running shoe.

I've been wearing NB 874's and thought about going for the 991 and thought, it looks plain and expensive, must be good. A

What about the nike free's? they look interesting felt conforming, but without much support. How are shox for running? or is it mostly for fashion. I'm also looking at the adidas a3 transfer. Any tips or comments would be greatly appreciated.

I like running in New Balance shoes. But you can't just take someone's advice for the most 'fomfortable' shoes. It really depends on your own feet. You should do a lot of trying on to find a shoe that fits you best! Good luck.

I am a marathon runner, and I think that you should get your running gait analyzed. You can do this at any specialty running store. That way you can get a good reccomdation of the right running shoe for you.

Yep, go to Luke's Locker on W Gray and they can fit you for the right shoe. I run a couple days a week, and I wear the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 5 . They're perfect for me, extremely comfortable.

I buy whatever is cheap.. I wont spend more than $50.00 on a pair of running shoes..

Thay have a RBK outlet store in Katys Mills that you can get some shoes cheap, I dont see the point in spending 100.00+ on shoes just to rip them up, but with your training I guess it's worth it..

    I like Asics.

New Balances are extremely comfortable, but I've heard they're not so hot as a running shoe.

That's good advice. Your best bet is to go to a good shoe store and talk to an experienced salesperson. A good salesperson will ask you to run around the store while they observe your running style. The store should also have one of those machines that detect your weight distribution.

Check Runner's World website for a list of good shoe stores.
