It's called you can get good o-lineman in the 2-4 rounds. Good o-lines are based on good coaching. This is where Texans' management realy screwed up by not addressing the coaching aspect of the line. You sign a good free agent, draft one or two decent prospects, spend the money on a quality o-line coach; and you have yourself a line. Besides, if Bush is all he is made out to be, he will make everyone on the offense much better. Good o-lineman are a dime a dozen. A great (possibly Hall of Fame) RB can change your franchise around.
If the Texans could take a whole offensive line with the first pick I'm all board. I just don't see how one tackle is going to improve the offense drasticaly. Reggie Bush can do that.
Yeah, while the Oline will still need much attention, having Bush in the backfield will do a lot towards backing some of the pressure off Carr. They will have to respect Bush's big play ability, because they know if he breaks into the secondary, in all liklihood he's gone. As it is, Carr gets serious pressure even on non-blitzes, so the OLine will need some change, but I'm with others in this thread who said the biggest change needs to be the Oline coach. Get someone in here who knows what he is doing and the line will improve.
This is my fear as well. 49ers have no reason to lose, they want to win. Time for David to start eating sketchy foods.
What would be worse, the Texans losing the #1 pick, or Bush pulling a McGahee in the national campionship game with the Texans sitting at #1?
It's an easy pick...Bush will be the first pick, period...I agree whom ever we pick, the O-Line needs a complete overhaul...So does our front office, etc.
You know, for a bbs that was collectively obsessed for months with "Head" jokes, I'm really pretty suprised with the restraint on "Bush." Is it because the president has desensitized us to the name? Or are we afraid of some sort of jinx?
