Enjoying a Big 12 team making a good showing, and see one of their band members doing a horns-down sign. WTH is that about, are they playing UT tonight?
while i wouldn't have exactly shed any tears had ou lost, i was rooting for them to take down a pac-10 team, just like ttech last year against cal. and they did it with that bad pass interference call on a clearly uncatchable ball giving oregon an extra touchdown (and brilliant camera work on that fake fg by the way, i loved the close up of nobody, then the qb/holder, then a quick shot to the TE as the ball was already sailing over him). why is the uncatchable ball language even in the pass interference rule? is it ever enforced. as long as the ball lands in the same county as the receiver, they seem to think it's catchable. oh, and i thought peterson's progress had obviously been stopped before that fumble at the 1. it was a bad idea to stretch from that far, but he was already stopped and even going backwards on top of the pile. you've gotta call the play over at that point. whatever, it all just made bob stoops pissed off and made him sweat a little more and i got a big xii win out of it, so i guess it's all good. of course, i'm not quite sure why i care how the big xii does. we don't get any bonus points against usc if we win more bowl games. and if we lose to usc, i won't give a crap if the big xii did good. and if we win, i won't give a crap if the big xii did poorly.
was it just me or did the refs make every call AGAINST OU? Oh well...nice win...this team is a lot better than i thought they'd be, they should've been 9-3 if not for horrible officiating..
Damn right. People have been questioning the Big XII all year long (and rightfully so). Glad to see the conference doing well at 3-1 so far. ISU has TCU in the Houston Bowl, followed by Tech and Bama in the Cotton. Everyone knew Oregon didn't belong in the BCS and they proved it tonight by losing to an unranked 7-4 Sooner team. Notre Dame is next in line to get beat.
I think that was the first game I've ever rooted for OU, it was nice to see them beat up on an overrated Pac-10 team.
i'm just glad that the pac-10 continues to get exposed as not only one of the most overrated conferences, but just flat-out one of the worst major ones.
I think this is at least the 3rd year in a row that a team that felt it should have been in a BCS bowl game but got put in a lesser bowl like the Alamo Bowl or Holiday Bowl lost, usually to a team that was 7-4 and unranked. I participate every year in a college football bowl contest (and I never do good in it) but I did call this upset.
I think it's pretty obvious that OU played the best game in their school history and Oregon played their worst.
This score has to be wrong. We're delusional if we think Oklahoma won this game even when Oregon was favored. This never happens.
