Considering how may nba players don't take responsibility for their kids (cough coug Shawn Kemp, cough cough throw a stick), just our luck to have one of the few players who does not need his lawyer to introduce him to his kid. Still, would have been nice if she could have held out for about an hour.

    Hopefully he can play tomorrow.
If he plays tomorrow he should be very happy and score 100 pts. Rockets win 102 - whatever..

At least they played hard, they competed, actually looked like they cared, they were horrible, but at least they tried.

Okur is very, very impressive. He has a complete game. He can score inside or out, blocks shots, great rebounder. Wow, why can't we have someone like that?

The Houston "we can't make a shot if the season depended on it" Rockets are slipping into oblivion.

I didn't hear T-Mac got married, but I'm glad he's happy. I must be old, though because T-Mac leaving at halftime of a game didn't set well with me.

Perhaps his wife is having the baby in Orlando or elsewhere, or maybe there was some concern about the pregnancy, but it just seemed strange to me.

When the 2nd half started tonight it just looked like the team was thinking about their families, the holidays and the fact they're millionaires.

Don't get me wrong, there's probably nothing worth possibly missing the birth of your child, but I'd have rather him take the entire night off than leave at halftime.

I understand that she suddenly went into labor and she was rushed to the hospital - so Mac was informed by half time. At least that is way Bill Worrel made it seem. I suspect that today was not her due date.

That's the problem. Not even the best OBGYN can tell a woman the exact day she's going to start going into labor and be 100% sure. Would you rather TMac sit out the entire week she was supposed to be due?

I think the fact that he's played this whole time despite possibly missing the birth of his own child shows a pretty good committment to the team.

Hope she is alright but she better work this out tonight so that Tmac can play tomorrow. This team cant afford anymore losses. Does anyone know what hospital she is at?

I thought Okur was unimpressive - very unimpressive. His box score looks like an all star statline tonight, but up close he looked very flawed. His box score looked good because he went 3-4 from three point range, but from two point range he was 3-13. I wouldn't call that a complete offensive game, rather one that is lacking for a big man.

On defense I thought he sucked. Howard pretty much backed him down at will early and late. I was shocked to see he ended up with 17 boards, I didn't see him terrorizing people like Wes Unseld, I saw the rockets missing a lot of shots, making no effort on the offensive glass or even having anybody in the vicinity, and the ball kind of bounced to him. This sounds like a cop-out, but honestly, I was right there. That's what happened.

Yeah, he was a decent jump shooter - but complete game? For a big man, guarding your man is a big thing. He's not so hot at that. He's also not so hot in the post. So complete game - no way.

This is so difficult, there is nothing going right with this season. Kind of reminds of 15-30....

Tracy McGrady will probably play away in Oklahoma City now that both Clerenda and Laymen Lamar are safe.

If we miss the playoffs by one game, we can blame it on TMac and his p__k_r.

    :D

    Congrats TMac.

Now get out there and kick some Hornet ...

Kyrodis, I've disagreed with many of your posts as of late but I'm not slagging McGrady here. No, he shouldn't take a week off. No, he shouldn't miss his child's birth. But in my experience childbirth usually runs four hours plus after a woman goes into labor (I'm from a huge Catholic family) and I'm enough of an old-timer to think T-Mac's leaving at halftime was strange.

Again, as a Rox fan I want T-Mac to be happy period and the loss tonight doesn't mean a damn thing in the greater scheme of things. Yet I find it a little strange. I guess it's just me.

I love the fact that Mcgrady left to support his wife during labor. Shows how much of a lovable person he is. Shows his characteristics. Go mcgrady. One loss to the team and mcgrady's happiness for the rest of the season in rockets uniform is worth it.

What if his baby is due at game 7 of NBA final, Rox vs Eastern Champ? Is he leaving for the hospital after the half time? If he does, will you guy still praise him for doing it? If it is Yao doig this kind of thing, will you guys say the same thing as you say about TMac?
Considering TMac intentionally not play hard for his former team, I will not be surprised if TMac does the similar thing to Rox. When that happens, hope you guys still understand him and praise him, the most SELFISH player Rox ever has.
