RBX(now acquired by Adidas) should design special shoes to protect players' toes, ex. adding steel or something at the top of the shoes. Is that possible and easy?

I know many people whose toenails suffered the similar pain as yao, usually hurted when playing basketball.

My friend and I both have shoes with steel heads (not 4 sports). seems not too diffucult, right?

contrary to popular belief, the shoe world does not spin around yao...
basketball and sports shoes in general are made to be as light as possible, so that you dont have anything weighing you down... now imagine steel put in your tips.. not gunna help the hops.

But I really mean if there is a design wich can protect toes when playing, there must be many basketball fans like me want to buy. fans like me are not
pros and care foots more than jumping skills, if you ever have toenails nearly pulled and a new one re-born under the old tail, and have months away from court and fell painful, you would not say that.

that's not a small market, man, if u ask people who play basketball frequently, you will know how many of them have toenails problem.

I play ball frequently, and have no problems. This may sound like a reach, but wear shoes that fit you.

And if you need protection for you toes, wrap them up.

And I thought it was rbk?

There is a lot of $$ invested in Yao (including from Reebok). It would behoove them to do anything they can to help prolong his career. And Yao can't hop anyways.. ;)

Titanium, not steel. Solves the weight issue.

this is possibly one of the least popular injuries ive ever seen in the NBA... ever.
    it rarely happens...

there are probably some sort of wraps or socks he can wear to protect his toes, or any other players...

Yao/Rockets can have anything they want in a shoe. Custom make the thing. Put in some protection to prevent it from being stepped on.

Just show RBK the $$$, and tell them, MAKE IT SO!

RBK may do it for nothing, since Yao endorses them. It wouldn't have to be a new line of shoe, just custom make a few for Yao.

Steel toe'd shoes in the NBA is just as bad as getting Bad Santa'd.
