Hey, I have a Sony Vaio laptop that is just under a year old and for the past couple of months any time I have the laptop hooked up to electricity the computer fan is going full blast...I mean it's really loud! There's nothing I can seem to do to get the fan to stop going when the computer is hooked up to electricity. If I let the computer run off of battery, the fan slows way down and is not nearly as loud. Even when I prop my laptop up to allow more air to enter, it still goes full blast if running on electricity. Does anyone know what I can do to stop this from happening? I know that the fan needs to run, but it cant be good to be constantly running as fast and loud as it is. My family has 4 laptops and none of them do anything close to this.

Any ideas on what's wrong/how to fix it?

    Thanks,

    Merry Christmas!

Try checking the Sony website for BIOS updates.
I had an issue with my Inspiron 9100 where the fan would just start working at full speed for no reason, Dell fixed that in their latest bios release, so you might want to check the updates that Sony has as well as their support site because it maybe a known issue.
