This year my most dear teacher, Dr.Maskin quit his job at the Bronx Science of High School of Science in NYC, following intense pressure from the prinicple. He was the head of the teachers union, which had a substantiable number of complaints against my former principle. there were flyers passed around one day which looked exactly like this:
it bascially stated all the faults with the principle as well as a xenophobic comment she made regarding asian students, as well as forcing her teaching techniques on all the teachers at Science. it also stated a cover up invovling a student beating the living crap out of a dean, which i must say its a bloody mess on the teacher's face.

the story made headlines in the NY Post as well, only fueling the flame.

as well as a few local papers

in the end, 2 teachers "quit". one of them is Dr.Maskin, i had him as my professor for 2 years, as well as a instructor at a city college. despite the fact that he worked over 20 years at science, he had to leave his posts because he spoke his mind.  i hope reidy gets fired soon.

more info can be found on this site:http://www.nyiix.org/bxsci.html
it lists pretty much all the paper information regarding this.

Sounds like a real piece of work......sometimes bad teachers can ruin education.

Anyone who has an honorary degree, but insists on being called "doctor," is probably a complete idiot.

    True.

Usually, though, when things get this bad it is the principal. Most people are brought up to be fairly docile toward authority in the work place, and if there is a general revolt of many teachers/workers, who are putting their careers on the line, it is because their is a lousy principal/boss.
