Not surprising, since Yao and McGrady have joined the team revenue has been rolling in like crazy. Why do you think Les finally decided to move to Houston and "concentrate" on the Rockets? They've become a money machine.

People ALWAYS make too much of the "attendance" problems thing, but reality is that's not where the real money comes from. The Rockets could care less about that. The overpriced suits and sold out club sections alone generate enormous money for Les. However, the real money is from TV contracts, merchandise, and other venues.

The value of the team nearly doubles in the past 3 years alone, what does that tell you? This is an incredibly profitable franchise.

So, to sum up, it should be Les who has a $90 mil payroll, not Cuban.

 

i sure hope that this moves les to pass the LT just a little bit. if healthy we are so close to having a championship team.

 

So what. The more $$ Les gets, the less he wants to spend on getting better players.
