Would kill for a Mike Miller right now or even with everyone else healthy, he's the perfect "third option" if there's one in the league today.

I'm Not bashing CD at all. at the time, it seemed like a great idea. heck, it still might workout. he has the potential to turn it around, but does he have the attitude?.

The luck of this team is so bad right now, it's so frustrating. We have all the talent, but they are injured or hurt, and the new talent is underperforming.

We need 3 things to win: Yao, Tmac, and good roleplayers.

    Yao - injured
    Tmac - hurt
Roleplayers - half are injured, other half are underperforming.

    HMMM.......****, I'm going to bed.

Because they have Smith, Harrington, Childress, Stoudamire, Ivey, and Johnson as well...again they can't keep them all together.

Hell, I'd take just about any of those guys at this point.

What does next year's top drafts look like? Any TD types out there? Could this be like the spurs situation where David Robinson went down and they drafted TD? If they can get a very good draft pick out of this whole mess, next few years rockets could totally dominate with Yao and TMac healthy.

The Raptors are a .500 team. Not too bad. Atlanta and NOK should be beatable. Basketball is one of the few team games where individual team stars are the most important. One player can take over a game. You can't really say that about baseball or basketball where you're depending on other people to be on base or catch balls.

If somebody already said what I'm about to say, I'm sorry. I didn't read the whole thread but I have to respond to this. If you were the opposing coach against this team, what would you tell your players to do? Stop McGrady. Nobody else can beat you. This is a team where the opponents can truly focus 100% of their efforts on a single player. Don't be surprised if he has a few more crappy nights until he gets at least one other person who can shoot to help out.

I kind of think there is something physical as well, if you've watched all the game since the Warriors game, he just seems, I don't know, not like himself, even though he had some good games in there

Probably afraid he's going to reinjure his back.

What happened with his girlfriend? Has she given birth yet?

    Per Texas Stoke

    "
The most important thing right now is for Mutumbo to get back. imo, we are talking about the best backup center in the league to the best center in the league. Without him, we may not win more than 2 games until Yao get's back.

Also, we're going to have to make a move, and soon. It's almost impossible to make one now with 6 rotation players out but a move has to be made. Swift still has value to other teams because of his contract so having him sit on the bench does not benefit us because the more he sits the lower his trade value drops so if we're going to trade him at all the sooner the better. If we can get Earl Watson for him, I say go for it. that will allow the Rockets to deal one of either Wesley or Head, maybe combined with Moochie's expiring contract, for a solid power forward."

Thankn you- I am not sure about Watson, but if we can free up our albatross contracts-this would be awesome.

You could start a new thread - these are good ideas......

Agree with you 100%. T-Mac has very little explosion, seems as if he is still struggling with injuries.

His injuries never healed, and they won't until he has an entire off-season in which he doesn't work himself like a madman, which is what he did this past off-season.

When people thought he was going to be the McGrady of "old", I was laughing, because McGrady has lost two steps from his Orlando days. He used to heavily depend on his speed to break down defenses and outrun defenders to the basket. Now, unfortunately, he can't do that.

Tmac is still a primetime athlete. The fact that he got bumped up in practice definitely was the straw that broke his back (no pun intended)

I think he will become more and more of the mold of Jordan in his later years: relying more on bbIQ and finesse, esp when he gets healthy again.

Thanks. I don't feel like starting a new thread just yet but man I want this team to have a shot at the playoffs when Yao comes back in Feb. To do that Mutumbo will have to come back hopefully after two games and a trade or two will have to be made to change things up before the other players start coming back in 3 weeks. There are two players that should interest us who I think can be had for the right offer. PJ Brown and Earl Watson. I think we have three active players who could possibly land us those two players. They are Swift, Wesley, and Moochie's expiring contract. I'd throw those players at them and maybe a first round pick and see if they bite. I think those two players plus the return of Mutumbo and the gradual return of our perimeter players will be enough to hold the fort down until the return of Yao. You know, thinking about it a little more, I would be stoked just to get PJ Brown and see how that works out for awhile. I think a big man rotation of Mutumbo, PJ Brown, and Howard would be enough to work with until the return of Yao. But all is lost no matter what we do if Mutumbo does not come back. We desperately need the old man back to man the middle.

The Raptors have been doing well on the road and improving recently.

Anyways, that's not the point. The point is with our current lineup, we would definitely lose to the Raptors in a 7 game series...we're that bad and that decimated.

I'm not sure why you're sounding the fire alarm now, we have had an astounding streak of bad luck with these injuries but the injured will heal and slowly come back into the lineup. Save Yao and Sura, all of these guys are expected back in a couple of weeks so lets not quite panic yet.

I'm hoping that guys like Graham, Baxter and Head get some seasoning and playing time during this spell. Maybe Graham is the real deal, remember he played with the Spurs and they have a keen eye for talent. I love Luther but he has a lot to learn and maybe the extra playing time will further his progress. Maybe Baxter can replace Swift in the rotation, he plays more physical than Swift.

I guess you didn't understand what I said. I meant with the lineup we currently have that was on display last night.
