Iran is backwards. Seriously, doesn't that sound ridiculous? How do you justify it? Does "we're not as bad as Iran" really make the above action acceptable to you? Well, as much as I agree that Iran is a depressing example of theocratic r****dation - I really don't think banning music is something to get worked up about. I'd rather focus on the "root cause" of said censorship, i.e., the theocracy in question. I protest the whole Iranian state - not just some silly ban on music. That being said, I would never put the responsibility of rectifying that situation in the hands of the current administration.
banned all Western music from Iran's state radio Good taste in music or AR Islamic fundamentalism? You make the call.
Iran is a joke....their people need to take back their country from those moronic mullahs. Seperation of church and state, should be required in all countries. DD
when was the last time you even spoke to an irani women, let alone went there and assessed the situation first hand eavesdropping on alqaeda calls is not bad, eavesdropping on my calls is worse than them not playing 50 cent on 97.9 ever again. stoning a woman to death for not being virgin? hmmm, lets see where you pulled that out of
Yes, and if that doesn't work because of the guy the mullah's daughter is currently serving..er, married to, you can always settle it with a game of chicken. Two camals running towards eachother at top speed. Whoever flinches loses.
The Iranian people are going through hell with this theocratic group of madmen in power. This is another example of the wildly erratic policies being shoved down the people's throats. The mullahs don't like Western music? They can kiss my American ass. I can't stand 99% of hip-hop, but all I do is change the channel on the radio. Golly, freedom is a word those fools want no part of, isn't it. Keep D&D Civil.
Iranians are not Arabs, so the whole 'camel' stereotype thing is not applicable. Get your stereotypes in order, you blithering idiot!
First of all, I seriously doubt they're eavesdropping on your calls. Secondly, how do you know he has no proof for his allegations. Do you honestly doubt that this has happened before?
lol...i would guess that the vast majority of our citizenry if asked would respond that iran is an arab nation. interestingly enough, iran is probably the most resentful nation of pan-arabism. it's subtle, but it's there. persia had a very rich history and culture before that was somewhat swept under the rug by the earliest of Arab invaders.
Oh those mullahs have f##ked up now, you can't stop rock! Is there any faster way for old people to get tuned out and rendered irrelevant than telling young people what they should listen to.
yes, i do. i honestly doubt that, the government of iran has not killed an innocent woman for not being a virgin on her wedding day. have families done this, maybe, probably. is it a rule or law in iran, i doubt the hell out of it. and just because you doubt that they are eavesdropping on my calls doesnt mean that its not happening in this country.
Now the king told the boogie men You have to let that raga drop The oil down the desert way Has been shakin’ to the top The sheik he drove his cadillac He went a’ cruisnin’ down the ville The muezzin was a’ standing On the radiator grille Chorus The shareef don’t like it Rockin’ the casbah Rock the casbah The shareef don’t like it Rockin’ the casbah Rock the casbah By order of the prophet We ban that boogie sound Degenerate the faithful With that crazy casbah sound But the bedouin they brought out The electric camel drum The local guitar picker Got his guitar picking thumb As soon as the shareef Had cleared the square They began to wail Chorus Now over at the temple Oh! they really pack ’em in The in crowd say it’s cool To dig this chanting thing But as the wind changed direction The temple band took five The crowd caught a wiff Of that crazy casbah jive Chorus The king called up his jet fighters He said you better earn your pay Drop your bombs between the minarets Down the casbah way As soon as the shareef was Chauffeured outta there The jet pilots tuned to The cockpit radio blare As soon as the shareef was Outta their hair The jet pilots wailed Chorus He thinks it’s not kosher Fundamentally he can’t take it. You know he really hates it. i know iranians aren't arabs but the song is still appropo
iran has something like 80% litearcy for women. which is remarkable given where they were before the revolution. and most graduate students in iran are women.
