So, if Purpura would've traded Brad Lidge and Chris Burke for Javier Vasquez, he would've earned some respect for you? I can understand some of your arguments criticizing Purpura, even if I disagree with them. However, condoning making a move just to make a move is, how do you say it...moronic.

Purpura may not have helped the team, IYO, but he certainly didn't hurt it like Casserly has the Texans.

Or, since you don't like the topic you could just ignore it right. When someone posts something on here (even if I cosider it to be lame) I simply don't respond. If you look through the hangout you will see a variety of very sad and pathetic posts in my opinion. Guess what, I don't care about them so I don't post in the thread ( I'm sure many have taken that route with this thread as well). Unfortunately, we have these message board divas who feel the need to interject their opinion on everything. That's a pretty sad life bro.

Don't respond then. Nothing on the board here says you have to. Plenty have and plenty haven't.

On this, I hope your being sarcastic. If you're not, I really doubt it. Internet tough guys are always really intimidating.

Did I say that? I said I hate Casserly and I want him fired but he did at least try to sign FA's and make moves to help the Texans. He's just a bad GM. I never said I wanted Purpura to make moves to hurt the Astros. I want him to go out there and do something. Trading Brad Lidge and Chris Burke for Javier Vasquez is a horrible example. We could have went after FA's aggressively but we haven't. There's been trades out there that we haven't made. Why is Brandon Backe untouchable? Granted he's great in the playoffs but he's got a 4.00 ERA for his career. What happens if Clemens retires? Do you honestly think Wandy Rodriguez and Zeke are going to fill his shoes (or even do a decent job tyrying? Where's the help for our bullpen or the extra bat we need. What about insurance for Bagwell (all he could do last year is hit bloop singles)? Is Rondell White seriously what we are going to add? As an Astros fan this frustrates me. We have a good nucleus in place (thanks to Hunsicker) that's getting old and our window of opportunity is going to slam shut if we stand pat. The Texans are a mess, there's no point in discussing them until we go through this offseason. Purpura is worthless, period. If your mark of a good GM is standing around and using someone else's talent then any one of us could do his job.

You know Purpura was in charge of the minor league system when these players came through? He weighed in on who the Hun should trade, keep promote or release.

Who is this Bard Ausmus character, and can he hit?

Actually, as was brought up in the ACT forum, TP did actually strike a deal for Moyer and Winn, but for some dumb reason Moyer liked being in last place.

Prove it! Of course he made no moves, but you can't say he did nothing. According to TSN he turned down a pretty bad offer for Vasquez.

So making bad decisions is better than making no decisions? Now the Texans may be screwed for multiple seasons, and Casserly is soon to be unemployed, but it's ok because he's skinny. Great logic.

I hope you say the same thing about yourself. You didn't even bother to follow my points but rather just twist things into a certain pretense to shape your argument. Great job buddy.

My bad on the double post, something is wrong with the server. I also responded inside of your response (under your highlighted points) for some reason. My response is not simply the one sentence under your post summary, but also directly underneath the points you responded with. I think you'll notice what I'm saying.

What a creative comment. Do you have anything to offer to the debate or are you just here because you have nothing better to do with your time? My guess would be the latter.

Can we nominate KAS13 for his own award for his performance in this thread?

You sure can. What would you like to nominate me as. Father of the year? I think I've done a great job taking care of you this year. Be careful with your response, or your Christmas won't be very merry.
