When I was in Hawaii, the most popular card game was called, "Trumps". I later found out that it's known as "Bid Whist" in the rest of the country. It's a great game. I'm surprised that it's never really caught on.
While all the other cool people were playing Magic the Gathering in highschool, my group was playing bridge. No...we didn't watch Golden Girl reruns afterwards.
Spades - I rock it. Texas Hold 'em - I rule it. Bridge - I'm alright. Most anything else - I can hang, but not dominate. Spades by far is my favorite. I minored in it in college.
I've been getting into Texas Hold 'em quite a bit recently. Turns out I'm pretty good at it. Does anyone know the best site to play this on? Both free and for pay?
Nah. I've been playing a lot of it on those NTN boards. Typically, there's 5-8 people playing against me, and I come in first quite a bit. Needless to say, I'm awesome at it.
Canasta is my favorite. Here some fun gambling games: Dynamite- you can play up to seven cards with standard poker rules. There is no drawing, but if you lay your cards down, players coming after you can play your cards. Everyone who stays in and loses has to match the pot. In between. Betting if a card will come in between two choices. If the overturned card matches one of the two piles you have to double whatever you bet.
Not sure I follow that logic. Have you never played poker? You win some and you lose some, but as long as you can afford to lose what you gamble, I see nothing wrong with it.
That's not how people play real poker. I have played those things hundreds and hundreds of times and it is nothing like a normal poker game. You typically have half the table going all-in on any given hand, mostly on hands where you would never consider making that type of bet. Try something on line that is free. I don't play that often, but try www.bodog.com or www.partypoker.com. Or, play with your buddies at a $20 buy in or something. Whatever you do, don't relate NTN success to real success.
