There is neighborhood in northern houston and their whole entire neighborhood is just beautiful. Every block gets a theme every year and its amazing. There are hundreds of cars going through the subdivision. I wish i could give u the directions, but i have no idea how to get there. If anyone knows can they post the info, cuz i'd like to drive by and check it out.

Me and the wife were just talking about this the other day. Maybe I just don't notice them as much because I'm older, but it seems like very few people put up Christmas lights anymore.

I was just contemplating starting a thread about this the other day. I've noticed it too. When I was a kid, it was rare that a two adjacent houses on my street did not have christmas lights of some kind. Now it seems rare for two adjacent houses to have lights. I dont' know what changed, but it sucks. It didn't used to be difficult to find neighborhoods to drive down and look at lights. Now you have to start a thread to find a good one. :(

maybe it has to do with the fact that it feels like Spring Break around here come Xmas time.

Pecan Grove will have the best displays. But get ready for some serious traffic, because everyone goes there.

I think he meant Christmas lights, not police lights.

What? Red and blue lights in strobe fashion don't scream, "Happy Ho, Ho, Ho" to you?

In 1995, I saw some nice ones around Old Spanish Trail. But I didn't really feel like stopping at red traffic lights...

yeah i know there's something near the heights area off of ella. there's a neighborhood that has all the houses lit up and arches with lights over the streets. it sounds alot like what pradaxpimp described but its not in the same area. i'll have to find out where exactly it is, i went last year and it was really sweet.

Went to my mom's house again, eh, freaker? I told you to stop that, dude... she's happily married.

Seriously, though, I spent 12 good years of my life living there and walking to high school then work from there. Good times. Good lights, too.

Yeah I live there, and it gets crazy around Christmas time. It is definitely worth a look, though, as there are some amazing houses down here.

I personally could do without my neighbors doing the whole x-mas light thing. It's like every other house in my small subdivision has some light display up. Not only the lights but they have to put up the stupid inflatable snowmans everywhere and the lighted reindeer. All the displays look the same. It's so damn bright out...I won't even go outside at night to walk around the neighborhood cause it is blinding. Hell, we don't even get any real traffic as we're a smaller subdivision with no thru traffic so I question why everyone has to have lights? It's not like we have people driving around looking at x-mas lights in my area. Screw holiday spirit. Bah hum bug.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Scrooge
