Pentagon admits mistake in spying on Americans, vows to expunge database.

The Pentagon has built a massive security database to help protect U.S. military interests that includes unwarranted information on war opponents and peace activists in the United States. A DOD official now says it had mistakenly swept up and kept information on citizens who were not really threats.

Its quite amusing what the admistration is doing. Now that there is an upswing in Iraq, the administration is now playing mind games with the public. By avoiding the Clinton style of denying it till the end, Bush is coming out upfront and admitting mistakes.

If these latest confessions are meant to build trust with the people and truly being honest, then thats great. If its just a ploy to build trust, then its no worse than what clinton has done.

I personally think its a little bit of both.

I knew the Pentagon was building bridges in Iraq, didn't know they were trying to sell us bridges also.
