With the way the Texans has been losing .... you just have to take a shot against them at an even line.

Who knows maybe next it'll be DD fumbling 3 times or Carr throws 4 ints.

DAN REEVES = Gary Kubiak = BUSH :)

No this is not free money.

The pressure is on the Texans and everyone is watching, they have put some major distance between themselves and 2 of their main competitors in Green Bay and the NYJ.

Their only competition left is the 49ers, who they play later this year. So this game does not matter in the long term.

The loser of the SF Houston game gets the #1 pick and I think they'll try to win this one!!!

So beware the free money stuff, vegas knows what they're doing.

The free money postings are 1-1. The Texans have covered the last 2 games: with the Ravens they were +8, this past Sunday they were +7. I think the Cardinals pick our secondary apart. But yeah the Texans will come out strong as they want to prove to people they are not tanking.

This line is interesting as it tells me that the odds makers really dont believe in the Cards, but there is no way they could make the Texans a favorite! Not as a 1-11 team. If Vegas really thought the Texans were tanking it, they would make the Cards -3 to -6 favs. You could make the arguement that because the line is one, Vegas actually thinks the Texans will win. Can you imagine if the line were a pick or Texans -1, -2, or -3? The public would be all over the Cards!

I think the Texans take this game. (let the flaming begin)

Every game matters. If they win this game and go into the SF game already tied with SF, of course the winner will get it. On top of that, SF picking Bush is a no brainer. The stock on the second picking is nothing close than the first.

Unfortunately, we need to go into the SF game 1 game down, so it doesn't matter if we win or lose in the SF game, we'll still get the pick. We'll also need to keep an eye on strength of schedule, because as I mentioned in another thread we're already close to SF on that.

Fortunately, Kurt Warner wants to win.

If the Texans go into the SF game with 1 loss, and SF has 2 losses (i.e. the 1 game down u mentioned), and the Texans win the game, both teams finish with 2 wins and SF gets the reverse tiebreaker and the number 1 pick.

The first tiebreaker is always head to head record.

Last game of the year even if we're 1 game ahead of SF and beat them .... SF gets the #1 pick since we beat them heads up when 2 team are tied

Wrong. We've been debating this back and forth in the other thread. The first tiebreaker is strength of schedule, with the weaker schedule getting the top pick. I sent a note to John McClaine of the Chronicle about this asking him to check into it. He verified that schedule strength is indeed the first tiebreaker yesterday on the radio (initially he had also thought it was head to head).

Here's a little more clarification....head to head is the second tiebreaker used, if both teams have identical strength of schedule:

" Draft sequence is based upon team records and strength-of-schedule. In slotting teams with the same record, the team whose opponents had the weakest schedule picks ahead of the team whose opponents had the next weakest schedule and so forth for that group. In the event of ties (teams with the same record and the same strength-of-schedule), the first applicable tiebreaker (head-to-head, divisional record, or conference record) will be employed, with the tiebreak loser getting the higher selection in Round One. If there are no applicable tiebreakers (as would be the case with teams from opposite conferences that did not face each other), ties will be broken by coin toss. "

I'd rather we bet on the possible dubious events to seal the loss.

11 seconds to go, Cards up 4 with the Texans knocking on the door from the 8. Carr takes the snap and goes into a bootleg, he's looking for Johnson, looking for Johnson, now he's scrambling! He gets by one defender, he's on the 5, he might have it........wait! he flicked the ball into the back of the endzone! No one was there! It's going to be a touchback with no time left on the clock! Oh me oh my, the Texans have just seen another game slip through their fingers. Can you believe the rotten luck these past four games?
