Why exactly Austin 70? I am not glad or mad either way and just wanted to know why you are so glad with this length of the deal.
Never mind it, ESPN changed it story. Its not only a six week deal http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=2256872
This is actually great to see. McNair is atleast acknowledging the fact something is seriously wrong with the team and managment. He now hires a proven super bowl winner to assess the teams situation to better our system. I like how professional McNair is going about doing his bussiness. Very classy.
Maybe Reeves is going to help McNair decide who to fire. As Casserly was Bob's football guy. Bob needs a 3rd party to come in and tell him like it is. Also, maybe Reeves is going to help with the new coach search. Does he have any links to Gary Kubiak?
Well, it doesn't seem that Reeves is here to coach. But I'll take anything we can get at this point. I don't know much about Reeves but it seems like he is a proven winner. Plus, I hate seeing camera shots of Casserly sitting right next to McNair in the owner's box while we are getting the $hit knocked out of us. The best thing for McNair and the Texans is to get an outside/unbias source to evaluate the team.
I'm glad McNair made a move to light some fire under Capers and Casserly's asses. I'm tired of this bullsh!t. BUSH IT 2006!
I would hate for a coach that would be a good fit here no want to because he may have to answer to Reeves and McNair, and we don't get that coach.
Dan Reeves has alot of football under his belt and I respect his opinion. I seriously doubt he would return to the sidelines to coach the team, but in a GM role I could see him fitting in quite well. I know more about Reeves during his tenure with the Broncos. Reeves and Elway didnt see eye to eye during his tenure in Denver. The 2 were constantly back and forth on direction and basic offensive philosophy. Elway was a guy who took chances, much like in the style of Brett Favre. Reeves liked to play more conservatively. I think this (Elway) ultimately led to his demise in Denver. I thought he was a good coach overall. His teams were full of underachievers but a good balance. Elway never really had alot of talent around him until Shanny took the reigns of the Broncos - then they went on to win 2 super bowls - one against Reeves' Falcons in 1998.
As long as we don't start winning these last few games, whatever. McNair needs another voice to help him sort through the mess that is the Texans.
thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if they were together in Denver at the same time or not. When I saw Reeves' name I figured that what was going on. Reeves learns the team, players, etc. so he can take over as GM and then hire Kubiak during the off season.
Kubiak played as backup QB to Elway when Reeves was coach. I like Kubiak, but the only other problem I see with him is that he is a former Aggie.
