I was wondering if his lack of playing time due to his injuries had affected his game and he seems to think so. I don't think he has quite been a bust by any means so far but maybe we have not seen the best of DA yet. It would have shown more class if DA would have taken the high road on his time with the Blazers but I have to agree that they had the talent to make the playoffs and they didn't.
You know what people who live in impoverished third-world countries would say once they read your post? "Why would anyone who lives in America and is able to watch Rockets on TV complain about other people's complaints? I'll never understand that. I'd wake up every morning to see blue birds on my shoulder..." Sometimes if you put things in perspective, you find that you are the Derek Anderson to alot of people in this world. Being rich doesn't deprive you of your right to complain about things that you don't think is right.
In almost any other field, if he had voiced that kind of displeasure with his employer, he'd be fired. A new employer would be reluctant to hire him because they generally assume "If he talks this way about his previous employer, what's he going to say about me?" He wouldn't have gauranteed money. He'd be paid based on his performance and fired if they felt he wasn't performing up to expectations. And as to me being a lucky guy, you're damn right I'm a lucky guy! And I know I'm a lucky guy, and I basically do wake up every day to see bluebirds on my shoulder, and that's why I find it all the more ridiculous Derek Anderson can't get past this percieved wrong against him! He's got his health. He's got his family. He's got 20 million dollars for this season alone. WTF? Where's the problem? That said, I'm done with this topic. Clearly most people here don't agree with my view, and that's fine.
But he didn't bad mouth everyone. He bad mouthed one person, and gave props to the others. I have no problem with what DA has said in his interview. I think DA's "problem" is he was so close to tasting "the 'ship." Ended up going to Portland. Maybe he feels his 4 years there were wasted. Maybe he's a competitor, and wants to win. And b/c he had this interview doesn't mean he isn't happy with his life overall, and feel lucky/blessed. I don't think DA would have said anything, if he weren't asked the questions. Sometimes people need to vent, and I guess he felt it was time to let it out. It was pretty timid to me. Big whoop. T-Mac seemed a lot more upset when talking about the Magic's GM. What's wrong with calling out people that deserved to be called out? ironic...you are calling DA out, hahahah
