Houston Cougars Hoops are on the way back to National prominance!

I can't wait till UH whips up on UT in the NCAAA tournament. That is gonna be so sweet!

 

Coogs play Sam Houston tonite at hofheinz tonite and they have road games against S.Alabama,UNLV,and North Texas next week.If there are any fans in the Dallas area you should come out to see them next friday.

 

The coogs crushed Sam last night. Sam has a decent team this year too, they already beat Mizzo @Mizzo, then also beat New Meixco State on the Road.

Coogs were without Lanny Smith, who was poked in the eye in practice and still nursing an ankle, and Richard Young. Coogs defense absolutely shut down Sam, it was pretty amazing. Of course they did the same to AZ the other night holding AZ to 1 FG in the first 10 minutes of the game.

I am not sure how Penders teams used to play, but they are ALL defense now, they are forcing about 25 tunrovers a game against good competion. UH is leading the nation in Steals this season, as they did last year.

If you dont think the Cougars play Defense than you havent seen them play. Maybe Toms UT teams sucked at Defense, but it is the strength of the UH team, the flat out get after on the defensive in. Go read quotes from Brady, Lute Olsen or Bob Marlin. Heck any time Penders is interviewed he always stresses defense first.
