Tie game, 3 timeouts left 1:16 or so on the clock, at your own 25 yard line and he goes for a knee, and Overtime...

    They lose on an interception...

WHAT KIND OF BS CRAPPY A$$ coaching is that?

You don't have enough confidence in your own team to go for it?

TSU....don't worry that coach is going nowhere, who would take a chance on a guy that makes that crappy call?

Not to mention he went for 2 up by one in the 3rd quarter instead of taking the easy point and making it a 2 point lead, thus not allowing Northern Iowa to stay within 8 points later.

    Baliff simply blew this game.

Good season TSU - you should be in the national championship game if you had a coach with some friggen JUEVOS !

Huh? I think every coach would do that.

No way, too damned early, because a TD puts you up NINE instead of only 8.....which happened.

The Northern Iowa punt returner should write a thank you note to Baliff.

What a finish. With 3 timeouts, Texas State could have taken some shots down the field and set up for a game winning FG. At worst, if there was a turnover, put the pressure on the Northern Iowa kicker to make a long FG.

I rank this with Mack taking a knee at the 50 in white flag-defeated-give up play calls.

I agree with the other poster. You'd be a bad coach if you DIDN'T go for 2 in that situation. I think you're being over critical.

This is clearly a 50/50 call, but the NOT GOING FOR IT bit at the end is inexcusable, what is that telling your players?

Unbelievable game. Talk about a complete breakdown by a headcoach, Baliff completely blew that game. 1:11 left in the game, you have all 3 timeouts, your kicker has already hit a 50-yard field goal, they haven't stopped you before. WHAT THE HELL are you thinking?

sucks when coaches play to not lose rather than playing to win..

Oh well, it was a good run. Props to Tx State for a good run in a PLAYOFF system that a certain division of college football should consider taking a look at.

the irony was losing on a turnover anyway.

I was in the stands and I was saying to myself, "come on Bailiff, don't be a p***y." I don't think that move neccesarily cost us the game. All the big pass plays we gave up for TD's did that. But it definitely deprived us a chance of winning in regulation.
