This is what appeared yesterday on sina.com.....an article by Zhu Junwei, a Houston-based Chinese reporter. Bob Sura may return sooner than we thought he can. :D :D :D

Both can help a lot. I haven't given up on Rafer. If both Sura and Rafer return and are effective, we hardly have any need for Wesley on this team, especially with Luther stepping up. A backcourt rotation of Rafer, Sura, Luther and DA could be effective. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how well they could compliment each other. The key is whether Rafer can get his act together and play like he is capable (shoot better + drive and dish more than he has) and will Sura fully recover.

I want them back. I think Rafer and Van Gundy can feel each other out a la JVG and TMac last year. But, Sura is a proven product in a Rockets uni. Other than TMac staying healthy, getting Sura back soon is my Christmas Rockets wish. When Sura returns to form the Rocks will put the rest of Western Conference on notice.

If I had to choose I would want Sura back. Sura just brings a different level of intensity to this team. I too have not given up on Alston, but as of right now Rafer has done nothing to show us that he will be the player the Rockets hoped they would get when they traded for him. Now, granted Rafer hasnt played in weeks, but even when he was in he looked lost. The one thing I will say is that the continued improvement of Stromile should give us all hope when it comes to Rafer.

Rafer Alston. The team were not run by a PG for a longest time now (dated back when SF3 was running the point.) I don't think a bunch of SG's can run a winning team in professional basketball. Beside, Alston need time to get familiar with the team in order to prepare for the playoff.

Chemistry cannot be developed over night. Alston need more time before playoff starts. And Rockets' offense need to be run by a PG, not some SG pretend to be a PG. All the problem in the offense started from the PG position.

Sura is an energy plug and a short team solution. His back problem will not go away in a longer term. And he might not come back next season anyway. The team will have to get used to play without Sura on the team eventually.

The Rockets are playing without a PG. They are not doing too bad if you take that fact into account.

Well duh. Sura. Geez...Did you guys watch our team last year?

Alston can come back if he wants, too.

I think Rafer can be good, but Sura was sooooo important last yr. He definitely helped with the chemistry and brought that toughness we SOOOO need right now. Only problem is his body's breaking down so it'd be nice to have both Rafer and Bobby.

While I'm not convinced we got a chance to really see what Alston is capable of, I have to say I'd prefer Sura because he really won me over last season. I'm a HUGE Sura fan.

I'm greedy, I want them both, but you have to want Sura more, simply based on his impact last season on the court. That he can come back this season, and if it's soon enough to get into game shape for the last several weeks leading up to the playoffs (yes, we will be there, if the "i-word" gods smile upon us), it'll be huge. It makes me more optimistic than I've been in a while.

I agree. The thing about Sura is I'm not convinced he was ever really healthy soon after the all-star break. He had some very good games afterward, but I was always almost afraid to look at his body language. After the second game of the Mav's series he did not look "right" to me at all.

I love Sura's game but I also have been critical of certain aspects of it and so I really want to see this guy healthy and see if his game can gel better with T-Mac and Yao. I think it can and will.

Rafer's kind of the anti-Sura in a lot of ways, and despite his slow start I think he innately does things better than Bobby can. They should complement each other very well and we may likely see a different-looking team in a month or so without any major additions. I hope so.

I hope Sura won't rush his return just to get injured again. Also, people should have a realistic expectation even if Sura returns sooner than expected. He hasn't played for more than half a year now so he is gonna come back in pretty bad condition.

We need both back. Sura won't be able to play 48 minutes, we need a quality back up that can play 20 - 25 minutes and Rafer is the man.

Yeah Sura is tough as nails. The guy could get hit by a Mack Truck and play the same day. He's the spirit of the team. If he can play the way he did last year the Rockets could surprise some people.

Steve is a SG. I honestly don't think we've had a real PG since Kenny the Jet and Cassell. The closest we've gotten, IMO, I think was probably Maloney or Brent Price (the procession of stop-gaps including Tierre Brown, Tito Maddox, Tyronn Lue, Mooch, Rod Strickland, and Mike Wilks doesn't count).
