http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/standings;_ylt=As.Lg9wybhXgIvwhhKdByFa8vLYF Look at the whole Souteast division, every teams except Wizards are on losing streak, even the Heat. Do you ever see something like this before?
That is amazing. It's hard to believe neither the Atlantic nor the Southeast divisions have anyone over .500. Only 4/15 teams in the E.C. are over .500. I guess parity between the conferences hasn't arrived yet. The Pistons make everyone else in the East seem like chumps but hopefully the Pacers will get it going. The two teams that I'm most surprised with are the Nets and Wizards. Something is wrong with the Nets and they may need to shake up that roster. No way they should be at .500 in the East. I was up in the D.C. area over Thanksgiving, and saw the local Wiz broadcast of their win at Detroit. That team is really fun to watch. Though their lack of defense means they are a non-contender, their offensive firepower and Gilbert Arenas' will should carry them to 50 wins in the East. The Heat at 10-10 doesn't qualify as a surprise to me. IMO, their roster is poorly constructed and Shaq has been out. I'm very curious to see if they gel into a cohesive unit sometime after Shaq returns. Of course, Pat Riley is standing in the shadows to take over if they don't.
Yeah, the supposedly parity between the East and the West never materialized. The East has 4 teams over .500, all in the same division. The West has 9 teams over .500, represented by all 3 divisions. The East has 4 clearly bottom feeder teams (Hawks, Raptors, Bobcats, and Knicks). The West has only one (Blazers). The West is a much more balanced and superior conference by far.
