I didn't know the league had a rule like this.... Link To Article No retro The Pacers won't be joining the retro uniform craze this season because of a league rule prohibiting teams from wearing one more than two years in a row. The Pacers, who wore the 1971-72 uniform two seasons ago and the 1987-88 uniform last season, can wear one -- and sell it -- next season if they want. The Pacers cannot wear an alternate color, such as the yellow uniforms they've worn in the past, until the 2007-08 season. Some NBA teams are reaching further into their past for retro models this season, with a few going outside their franchise's ancestry. The Chicago Bulls wore the Chicago Stags uniforms of the late 1940s earlier this week, although the Stags folded long before the Bulls were formed. Two other teams will wear ABA uniforms later this season. The Miami Heat will wear the uniform of the Miami Floridians, with the pink and magenta vertical stripes, and the Memphis Grizzlies will wear the uniform of the Memphis Pros. eh? the rockets had their retros last year, and are going to have one this year. They didnt have one during their first season at the toyota center, and Yao's rookie year, they had the red ones going from the championship years.
They're probably different jerseys. I know the Nugs wore the rainbows one year, and then the next used the pick-axe.
