http://www.schlitterbahn.com/gal/park-aerials-11-22-05.asp I didn't post them, because they're huge, but this looks like it might kick some serious assage... The indoor section was originally scheduled to open this Saturday but has been postponed. It is still expected to open up this winter, but they haven't even started constructing the "building" for the indoor section, so who knows? Hopefully, the buildings adjacent to the park are just construction buildings, and they'll be available for future expansion. The cool thing about this park is that it will have a river that connects all the rides, so you can just float around all day instead of walking from slide to slide. I also haven't seen that really tall, steep slide that most water parks seem to have, but that should come later.
That looks fun...I have been to Schlitterbahn once in ... what is the other city in TX ?? .... well anyways its a great park. If this one would be open already I would go right now...even in freezing weather
I cant remember the last time I went to a water park because I refuse to go to Splashtown. I'd love to go to something nice and that looks like it is shaping up to be pretty good.
Awesome, the river idea is pretty sweet. I love the Schlitterbahn in New Braunfuls, I could ride that lazy river for hours. Anyone know where this one is located in Galveston?
where on the island will it be located? is it down where that old waterslide park used to be towards the west side?
I'll go check it out eventually someday within the next 5 years.... But the original is less than an hour away, so if I wanted to go to any Schlitterbahn, I'd just go there.
...but enough about what your girlfriend says to you every day. Obviously, they're not going to build a huge park right away, plus Galveston has a limited amount of real estate available.
I see the new park evey day as I go to work. It is freakin RIGHT next to Moody Gardens. I have seen the big slide it looks pretty sweet. The part that was supposed to be built indoors was postponed because the building caught on fire earlier. The coolest thing is that once the park opens they will start contructing phase 2 of the park. So there will be much more there by next summer. They will also have a pipeline for surfing and boogey boards.
How do you flood a water park? Once the flood waters recede, just dump a bunch of chlorine and your good to go.
Don't think its about the flooding......might have something to do with the slides and 150mph winds, but hey thats just a guess
If you look closely on the first picture, on the place where they made that oasis thingie with sand and tracks everywhere, there is a yellow CATerpillar machine thingie in the middle. Why would I want to go to a water park without water and a yellow CATerpillar machine thingie in the middle?
awsome, that park looks like fun. I can't wait to try it out. I've never been to any schlitterbahn before.
