I have been really searching for somethign that I want my wife to give me for Christmas. I finally decided that I want a good set of headphones for my computer. However, I have no idea what a good set of headphones would be. So I appeal to you good folks of the BBS, to help me find a decent pair of headphones for around $100. It doesn't need to have a microphone, but if it does that would be a plus.
I plan on getting this. http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/Plantronics_Pulsar_590A_Bluetooth_headset/4505-6468_16-31512239.html Wireless is definitely cool. Has an adapter for non Bluetooth devices as well. Acts as a headset to talk into also.
I've used these, but dont own them.. they sounded great.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826106328
Thanks, you guys are making this a tough decision. I like the looks of all three of those. The Plantronics for the wireless, the Sennheiser for the noise reduction and the Bose for the sound quality. I'm going to struggle with which one to get. I may really look hard at the Plants, because I may be able to get them at a real good price. My wife works for a company that is a plantronics dealer and they are going to see if they can get that model for her. I have also had some Bose stuff in the past and I was always pleased with the way they sounded. Man, even typing this out I can't decide what I want.
Watch http://www.bensbargains.net . About once a week or so, there's a great deal on Sennheiser earphones -- you won't get better sound quality than this. I have the Bose Triports as well, and they're alright, but they aren't even close to being worth what they charge for them -- you could do a LOT better with Sennheiser. The Triports are like $60 earphones or so, but they charge twice that. I've also had the problem of mine not being very durable, but that's probably not a problem for everyone. Sound-quality, you won't do better than the Sennheisers, IMO.
I love the Sony MDR series. Every recording studio in the world uses them. They are all a little different, but they all have great sound reproduction - very honest. Plus, they are comfortable and fold up pretty neatly for full-size headphones. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...d=I2VIYV46IXLC3M&v=glance&colid=3BM5K00E7YFP1
Wireless is the way to go. As far as quality, as long as she isn't mixing music, you can probably spend as little as $30 and get a good set of wired headphones.
The headphones are for him. he's trying to hint to his wife so if it's for a guy? The more gadgets the better . Wireless, Bluetooth! headphones or headset! gotta have it all
My only complaint about the Bose is they are a bit fragile, so you can't just throw them around... but their sound is second to none. My brother is a private pilot and has their 500 dollar pair with the noise cancelling and they sound just as good as those... you'd swear you have 5.1 system in your ears, even a sub-woofer.
