I agree. JVG is confused, he confused his players, not only Yao, also SS and others, he made confusing decisions, produced confusing stats, he was perhaps trying to confuse opponents but got himself and rockets confused!
fa7999, I think you are confused. The article is a phone interview with Anhong Yao, who happens to share the same last name with Yao. Anhong Yao apperantly has some insider info since he works for the Rockets He told some of own personal opinion about some insider info he had. First, we dont know what exactly JVG told Yao under what circumstances, since it's taken out of context by anhong Yao and used to support his opinion. Second, Yao is not confused, at least we dont know about just as before this interview.
It makes sense that Yao is confused by the way JVG utilizes him. JVG doesn't know how to. That said, aggressive Yao is benched Yao due to the ridiculous foul calls that the refs call on him.
Man, why are you such a hater? Being close to Yao, he would not have the audacity to even hint at it if there weren't a kernel of truth in it. There's no point in nit picking about if Yao actually said such things to the interviewer. The point is that there is at least some truth to the fact that Yao is confused by JVG's instructions. And this should be a significant concern.
Hater? Hate who? Yao anhong? Never heard of him. Hate Yao? People used to call me YOF, now I hate him? I didn't say Yao was confused or not confused by JVG, coz I didn't know. All I pointed out was that interview was with Yao Anhong instead of Yao, and every single word was out of his mouth instead of Yao's. What was wrong with it? In fact, there is a point to "nit pick" the truthfulness of some supposed breaking news or exclusive interview.
Here you go: This is a long-distance call interview on Andy Yao Anhong from Houston. Andy Yao is a close friend of Yao Ming; he used to be the host of Big Hour with Yao Ming on Rockets.com. The reporter had to call Andy Yao trying to reach Yao Ming, as now no one could contact Yao Ming right after matches (unless he contacts you), as he shut down his US mobile, and only use his Dad's mobile to call his friends. Andy Yao now has a work permit to roam around every corners of Toyota Centre, and he watched every of the Rockets game beside Rudy T. Andy Yao believed the current Rockets team had a lot of problems, the most obvious and serious one was there is big holes in the back court guards. "The ball cannot be passed to the interior to Yao Ming from the exterior, to transform Yao Ming's low post superiority into points scored. That's a big problem in itself already. Of course, I'm also pretty puzzled about the way Yao Ming was deployed. " Andy Yao believed the Rockets might make player transactions soon, but he thought it would be rather difficult to find a better and suitable replacement for Head Coach Jeff Van Gundy. Andy Yao also told the reporter that Yao Ming actually had very high hopes and feelings about himself and his team at the beginning of the season. He felt himself much stronger and better conditioned. He even started to play like Shaq, banged body at low post, and tried to dominate the interior aggressively. But repeatedly he was severely scolded by Jeff Van Gundy, who asked him to refrain playing that aggressive and physical, but to rely more on his finesse skills. Andy Yao said: "I really don't get it. It was JVG that said Yao Ming was playing soft and not aggressive. Now it was also JVG that scolded Yao Ming for playing too aggressive. Yao Ming is now all confused, and does not know what to do."
No I don't. Zi is a title of respect. It is not his name. His actual name was Kong Qiu. 孔丘. If you were his close friend and equal, calling him 仲尼 would also be appropriate. But definitely not 孔子.
