I was reading that Movie Rant thread that Rokkit started, and read that anecdote that Jeff told about when he and his friends saw "Showgirls"...He said that his friend told a joke and "everyone in the theater" started laughing....My first response was naturally, "Everyone in the theater at a showing of Showgirls? So, that's, what....nine people?? ten??" So, my question is...what's the least number of people that's been in a theater during a movie you saw? five people?? four?? Or, the ultimate...have you ever been the ONLY person in a theater watching a movie? You get bonus points if you actually enjoyed the movie... As for me, I remember seeing Oscar with Sly Stallone with my Grandma and about four other people sitting around... ------------------ Mein bratwurst has a first name, it's F-R-I-T-Z Mein bratwurst has a second name, it's S-C-H-N-A-C-K-E-N-P-F-E-F-F-E-R-H-A-U-S-E-N
My friend and I were the only onesin the theater to watch Along Came a Spider. ------------------ Question about a Tree? Go to the 5th Ward and tell Daryle I sent you.
Me and my buddy were the only ones in the theatre across from the old Gulfgate mall to see action thriller, "Double Team" with Jean Claude Van Damme, Dennis Rodman & Mickey Rourke. He sat on the ailse seat of one side and I on the other. WHAT A CHEESY MOVIE! We laughed our asses off! ------------------ This space left intentionally blank...
I've been the only person in the theater for several movies, many of which were good. For example, when I saw Wag The Dog at the Hulen Mall UA Theater in Fort Worth, I was the only one there. Other times, it's been me and only one or two other people or other couples. When I saw Rushmore in Dallas, there was only two other couples there. And when I saw the Big Lebowski, there was only a couple of other people in the theater with me. I go to the matinees a lot, so I'm often seeing movies in near-empty theaters. ------------------ Why not visit MovieForums.com? Or FilmDallas.com?

There's a great 50's style movie theatre on camp bowie in Fort Worth that I used to go to alot. I love those old fashioned cinemas. I used to go there all the time, and I would always be the only one in there most of the time. ------------------ Is it Rachmaninov or Rachmaninoff?
I used to have an office in what was once the Paramount Theater in Amarillo. Instead of tearing the building down after the theater closed (and the theater closed in the '60s, I believe, perhaps the early '70s), they converted it into an office building. The theater itself became the parking garage (the ceiling was still ornately painted in some places like it was originally set up). I was glad that they didn't tear down the old theater. The art deco exterior is very nice. They did tear down the 50s-era theater that I used to go see Disney movies at as a kid. It was called The Esquire theater, and it was on Washington Street in Amarillo. It was a really neat place. Crushed red velvet seating, a balcony, ornate designs built into the structure. They tore it down and built a small office tower on the site in the early-to-mid 80s. ------------------ Why not visit MovieForums.com? Or FilmDallas.com?

I saw Odd Couple 2 with about 3 people total in the theatre. One of us, don't remember who, perceded to get the giggles and then it all became one big laugh-a-thon. None of us could stop laughing. It was very weird. ------------------ First the Sopranos and now Eddie Griffin... thank you New Jersey!
How was Rushmore ? Is it worth buying on DVD ? ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
I liked Rushmore, but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I think the problem is that I spent six months waiting to see the movie, and I built up unrealistic expectations in my head for it, especially after I enjoyed Bottle Rocket so much. I don't own it on DVD and probably wouldn't recommend it right now. But so many other people have liked it that I might have to rent it and see it again to make sure my feelings toward the movie are really my feelings toward the movie. (If that makes any sense at all). ------------------ Why not visit MovieForums.com? Or FilmDallas.com?
I went to see Waterboy on a Monday night. Regardless, I still expected the theater to be somewhat packed. Was I wrong. It was empty. That was the first time I saw a movie alone. I didn't really like the movie either. ------------------
