It was a status thing about 18 months ago, which is when Clutch first starting using the post count feature. But this site has blown up so much that I think they have become less important, because there are so many newbies. I gave up 2400 posts due to a bet, but I find that it's not that bad. Silk has had some excellent posts, since being here. But, Your Smoothness, note that talking about the meaning of post counts is futile. Half of us think that turning on post counts resulted in peppering the board with nonsense, and the other half says talking about it is nonsense, hence the replies to this thread.
