    what about Devean George?
i thought he was one of the most underrated player in this league,he can shoot, and creat some shots by himself,he was strong, athletic, and still young...yeah
    here comes his salary
    Devean George 4,950,000 this year
and he will be free next summer

Agreed. I also find it hard to believe White isn't on an NBA team yet. He's very talented offensively and has great size. Definitely worth a shot.

.....and to a lesser degree, I think giving Qyntel Woods a look would be a good idea. The guy does carry some baggage but with his athletic ability and versatility you can't really go wrong playing a young talent like that off of the bench. In my opinion, he certainly could be better than Bowen and probably better than Glover.

I don't know a ton about the guy, but Les or Van Gundy must really think Glover has some potential when he gets healthy (that or something's in the works). But unless he's turns out to be really helpful later on, we're gonna really regret not dropping him to help our team NOW. This team is built around potential enough as is. The problem is, Van Gundy would probably just sit whoever we picked up as a f.a. anyway unless it was Spree, because they would just be another young guy (like Baxter) that would hardly see minutes.

    Bulls, Thomas agree to split

    November 29, 2005
CHICAGO (AP) -- Forward Tim Thomas apparently will not play again for the Chicago Bulls.

The Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times reported in Tuesday's editions the sides agreed to split, with the Bulls attempting to honor Thomas' trade request. Thomas, who is in New York tending to a family matter, will continue to collect his $14 million salary.

The Bulls are not expected to release or buy out Thomas, a free agent after the season, because his contract might be attractive to teams looking to slash payroll. The trade deadline is Feb. 23.

"He wants to play," general manager John Paxson told the Tribune. "We're in a position where it's probably not going to happen here."

Thomas, averaging 4.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 10.7 minutes in three appearances, had made it clear he was not happy in a limited role. He has averaged 11.9 points and 4.0 rebounds, but hasn't met expectations that accompanied him from Villanova to the NBA in 1997.

The Bulls acquired Thomas and starting forward Michael Sweetney in the deal that sent Eddy Curry and Antonio Davis to New York before the start of training camp. Chicago made that trade after Curry refused to submit to a DNA test to rule out a potentially fatal heart condition.

Thomas never fit in with the Bulls. He sprained both ankles and appeared in just three preseason games.

"There was no conflict with Tim or anything like that," Bulls coach Scott Skiles said before Tuesday's game against Orlando. "Tim ... is a nice guy. Where he's at in his career is not necessarily compatible with where we're going."

Why no response to Tim Thomas, a former knick? Was just about to post the same thing.

    Primarily for 2 reasons:
    1. The Bulls are going to more of a running game Tim doesn't fit in that system. JVG is always trying to get the Rockets to push the ball more, so Tim probably doesn't fit the JVG system either.

    2. The thread title is for a BACKUP sf. T-MAC will still get 35 minutes + each game. That leaves 13 minutes max for his backup. Tim is b****ing about less than 25 minutes. It's not a good fit there either.

Now, on to Ruben & Spree. The TC isn't big enough to handle all of Patterson's baggage!!No way no how do I want him in Rocket red. I have never been a Spree fan. However, he seems to have mellowed out over the years. Also, he has flourished in a JVG system. I be willing to give him another shot with Jeff as a backup.

I just thought of the Sonics' Radmanovic as being our backup SF. If only we could pakage some players to get him + Reggie Evans. Evans does not play anymore and he is a blue collar PF that we need. I'd rather have him than Bowen on the PF.... but the risk is that they both signed a 1 yr tender which makes them an unrestricted FA after the season

While I would love Radmanovic, he has already stated that he is looking to get paid. He wants a K greater than the full mid level. So that pretty much rules him out.
