Of all the Rockets, Luther Head has impressed me the most this season. TMAC has played limitted minutes but his value should not be discounted. Yao Ming has been great at times. Derek Anderson is inconsistent, but has add a good scoring punch every now and then.

On the Rockets website there was a poll where LUTHA received 59 % of the votes for Rockets MVP. The rookie has been good. What are your thoughts on Head? Can he continue to be promising

i'm glad he's playing well, but you know you are having a bad season when you're mvp is a rookie instead of your former #1 overall pick, yao ming....ouch.

ok i'll keep it clean. :p

he has been the most consistant. it's hard to say he is our MVP. without yao we would be 0 for the season. without head we might have been blown out by the mavs instead of keeping it respectable.

don't get me wrong. the guy has been great so far, but lets not get so down on yao that we don't see him as our MVP so far.

Luther is the only person who's made this horrific season "worth" watching. Period.

Look at the game going on tonight and then tell me anybody not named Tracy McGrady is MVP of this team...whether he's on the court or not.

    Head's season 3-pt shooting is 25-51(49%).
    Head's season 2-pt shooting is 14-47(30%).

That 2-pt%, and the the number of 2s taken, tells you all you need to know about Luther's ability to create his own shot. He's becoming a very good ROLE player for this team. But that's all he is. If Yao or T-Mac isn't getting doubled teamed all the time, he'd never get the open perimeter looks he does now.

I really hope he can work on penetration and finishing/passing in traffic. If he can do that, we'd have our starting PG for the entire T-Mac/Yao era.

I love Head, but, no, TMac is. If he takes this team to playoffs, he will be the MVP of the whole league.

I think he is more like a SF or SG than a PG in the future. He handles the ball well but his passes are very predictable... In last year's Illini team Williams was the one who passed the ball and Head was the one who scores from those passes. Reminds me of Richard Hamiton and Hornacek

Hey, if Luther can handle coming off screens for the catch and shoot half as well as Hamilton I'd be very happy with that. And if he's the PG/SG version of Bruce Bowen I'd be more than happy with that also.

The problem is that Head's 6-3. If he had SG height at 6-5 or 6-6, there was no way he'd last until the Rockets' pick. So unless we can get a big PG(unlikely to happen), Head will have to work on PG skills or he'll have trouble fitting in. We can't rely on T-Mac handling so much PG tasks on offense without burning him out.

ok seriously calm down...head has been a great surprise but he is not the mvp.

he is the mvp of our worthless role players though. its nice picking up a good defensive player who is money from 3pt land so late in the draft.

Tmac has to be our MVP cause we can only win games when he is playing........Head is amazing though and has shown to be a good pick.

MVP? No. That's TMac. Without TMac, we lose. Without Luther, well we're going to lose no matter whether he's in or not and TMac's out. Luther will be a great 1b/2 option for us in the future. The thing I love about Luther is his defensive ability and his aggressiveness. He'll make a few boneheaded plays along the way, but there haven't been so many you'd want to bench him (hello, Stromile). Since he's a rookie, you also expect a few mistakes along the way, anyway.

I was at my first Rockets game at T.C. last night. Had some decent seats. I have to tell yeah, I'm impressed with him but he cannot be relied on to play point. For better or worse, that will have to be Rafer. Atlanta's pressure was causing him to be shaky all night while he ran point. I don't know why it took so long for JVG to get T-Mac to bring the ball up.
