hopefully all the refs will write a "I'm soooo sorry!" card to Yao one day. That will surely make up for not making it out of the first round last playoffs.

that has to be the most ridiculous ejection in the history of organized basketball. i cannot imagine two technicals that horribly wrong called on a player in his career, much less in the span of 2 quarters.

the first was for throwing the ball of someone going out of bounds, except the whistle blew a split second before he threw it. somehow the refs decided this was malicious, even though it's a move done all the time as someone goes out and even though francis just threw it off the guy's leg. it's not like he pegged him in the face or something.

the second he basically flinched his arm in stockton's direction. i don't even remember stockton flopping. that's how far it was from being anything bad, stockton didn't even flop. and bam, ejected.

even though those were the worst combined technicals, i would still have to say his 2nd technical against sacramento was the worst ejection technical i've ever seen. a taunting technical to knock someone out of a game? wtf? has anyone else ever seen this in the nba? iirc, he dunked, turned around to yell, and peja happened to be right behind him so when he turned he was yelling at peja. somehow the refs couldn't interpret such a complicated scenario and decided a technical must be called, as surely the feelings of the kings were crushed and would never recover, and that francis must be ejected.

I remember one time Karl Malone was ejected in a game against us because the ref thought he was calling the 2nd technical foul on Malone, but it was only the first. He immediately threw him out of the game after calling the tech and refused to reverse the ejection.

... and if it had happened to anyone but Karl Malone, that would have been a terrible thing.

    ....

    (or Scottie Pippen)

    ...

    ... (John Stockton) ...

My hatred for the guy was starting to deteriorate because its been a while since he's been on the court. However, this thread just reversed that. Stockton sucks.

The most rediculous ejection in the history of basketball happened against Clyde Drexler in the 95 playoffs. He got ejected before the game even started. I forgot the refs name but he got kicked out of the league after that.

I still remember that game. I was so mad that I wanted to find Crawford and kick his ass. Stevie was gonna go for at least 50 that one.

    I still remember it vividly...

Both his techs are described in there ... actually reading that kind of gets me pissed off about it again. The first came when Steve tried to throw the ball hard at the Jazz while falling out of bounds. The second was literally nothing. One of the worst ejections I've ever seen.

He was actually ejected after the game started, but it was a horrible ejection. The referee (name escapes me at the moment...O'Donnell?) refused to shake Clyde's hand before the game, however.

Jake O'Donnell was the ******* that ejected Clyde back in the '95 playoffs. And it is true that he never refereed after that which was a shame (a shame that his legacy got tarnished at the end like that but it was his fault) because before the '95 playoffs, he was generally considered to be one of the best NBA referees. It was like something snapped inside of him and he was determined to take it out on Drexler.

manny's right I believe, he was suspended and I don't think he ever reffed again. the worst part about that is he almost decided that series. I think the rockets went down 3-1 that game.
