Well I will suit up for the game as usual but at this point I think I will only play if an unexpected situation arises (not enough players to start game, injuries, someone fouling out, etc.). I suppose I will be able to take stats, so I'll go ahead and make a sheet for it.

    So we got

    Josh
    Rush
    Omega
    Stack
    Biggie
    Yaowink
    Clutch (IR)
    Kam (out)

We got a solid 6 so barring 2 injuries we should be okay.

Speaking of jerseys, I was not able to get a number on mine. Would it be in bad taste to make a number with tape ... and if not, does anybody have any black tape that they can bring to the game tonight?

You can re-confirm with Biggie, but I dont think numbers matter much the 1st game or 2...as long as you have a reversable T (white and navy blue).

As long as you have a number on your shirt. go for a white t-shirt. We'll try to wear the white side tonight.

Josh has his numbers taped on, so I hope it's not in bad taste lol.

By the way, his number is 1. Just a heads up for YaoWink when he's choosing his.

ALSO, I took some painkillers and did a lot of stretching last night and I'm feeling noticeably better today. Still not sure about my availability, but I'll at least participate in pre-game shoot around and see how I feel when actually running and jumping. Maybe I'll be able to play afterall, but if not I will be stat boy as planned.

FINALLY a WIN...but if we had to take any negatives from this game was kinda lackluster play in 2nd half and resulted in ONLY a 19pt win. All our shots were right there but just didnt go in...

yeah... it was a good game. passing was crisp in the first half. defense was good in the first half (biggie good call on pressuring the ball... i'm not sure how many turnovers we cause, but it had to be a schat load). good game by everybody.

btw everybody, i know absolutely nothing about playing organized ball, so when you want me to set a pick or something, let me know. i don't know when to roll or cut or pop or whatever.

Some of the things we should focus on is not just setting a pick for the ballhandler but setting screens and picks for guys moving w/o the ball. We spend a lot of time watching the person with the ball. Let's trust Josh or Rush with the ball and set screens for each other w/o the ball. We get those guys open and I'm confident our guards will hit the open guy for the shot or layup. Granted they were bigger than us tonight but they were slow as molasses.

We were losing the lead but I confident we could keep the lead. Nice I could get some garbage minutes :D

After the lead was getting cut down I was happy with our ball movement and didn't pull the gun so quickly on the outside shots that weren't falling. Clock management was better as well.

    Look forward to next week.

OK guys, here are the stats. [REVISED]

    FINAL: 57 - 38

    Khalil: 12 pts, 3 def. rebs, 3 asts, 1 stls, 1 TO (3-3 from 2, 2-11 from 3)
    Josh: 12 pts, 1 off. rebs, 6 asts, 2 stls, 1 blk, 3 TO (6-6 from 2, 0-1 from 3, 0-1 FT)
    Rush: 7 pts, 1 off. rebs, 2 asts, 1 stls (2-4 from 2, 1-4 from 3)
    Mike: 0 pts, 1 def. rebs (0-1 from 3)
    Kurt: 15 pts, 3 def. rebs, 1 off. rebs, 1 stls (4-6 from 2, 2-7 from 3, 1-2 FT)
    Omega: 3 pts, 4 def. rebs, 1 asts, 3 blks, 2 TO (1-2 from 2, 1-2 FT)
    Yao: 8 pts, 6 def. rebs, 2 off. rebs, 1 asts, 3 stls, 5 TO (3-5 from 2, 0-1 from 3, 2-4 FT)

    TEAM TOTALS:

    19 - 26 from 2 (73.1%)
    5 - 25 from 3 (20.0%)
    24 - 51 Overall FGs (47.1%)
    4 - 9 from FT (44.4%)

    22 Rebounds (17 def./ 5 off.)
    13 Assists on 24 FG's
    8 Steals
    4 Blocks
    11 TO's

Items highlighted in RED need improvement and BLUE is excellent. Anything not in color is considered acceptable. Hope these stats are helpful to everyone. It appears as though we need to take the ball to the hole in this league. Shooting free throws better wouldn't hurt either. Hopefully our 3 point shot will start falling though. Then we'll really be rolling. Good game everyone. I'm going to go have some ice cream to celebrate now.

Good stat taking. I may have missed a few stats because I was busy watching the game. We definitely need to take it to the hole more. Especially with our speed against tonight's team. I wanted to really wreak some havoc with our energy and youth. They may score a few but they will burn out quickly. I'm sure our next team won't be as slow-footed though.

Clutch will move into the starting lineup if his back will feel better

We need to increase the intensity as well too. We will usually have 8 players so we need to take advantage of it on defense. I'm trying to play the ryan bowen role out there and just running the **** out of myself on both ends.

I'll be playing again this Thursday so let me know if you guys are interested in coming again.

thanks Clutch. IF we were to give a gameball to someone Id have to give it to Josh...a nice stat line and it didnt hurt to get a couple layups at the end of the game (stat padding). For me, its been the same as last year......good start but dont show up in 2nd half. 7pts seems to be my league average so far through a season + 1 game. This game could of been alot uglier if myself, stack, and clutch could of made some of the shots we usually/should make.

Thursday at the apt sounds good to me right now. A win feels good no matter who it was against and cant wait to play bball again.
