I am flying out to Houston next week and I realize I no longer have any luggage. What's good for about two weeks of vacation? I don't want to spend too much money, and I would like to keep it to a suitcase.

Hit up Marshall's or TJ Maxx for some discounted luggage that is still good quality.

Don't pay full price for luggage.

TJ Maxx totally rules for luggage -- you can get REALLY REALLY REALLY top-notch stuff for great prices. My father travels a fair amount for his job, and all of his luggage is from TJ Maxx -- really nice stuff, like Tumi, Briggs and Riley, etc.

    i second this.

i just bought a new luggage at Marshall's saturday in el paso after the luggage i brought w/ me from houston broke. i looked for a tumi, but their particular selection was limited. they did have several samsonites, olympias(sp?), but i bought a delsey. never heard of the brand before, but it was marked down from $120. looks freakin sweet, too.

Delsey is a really, really good brand. I've had a lot of it...the best selection is found overseas, though. I got a lovely piece a few months ago in London.

If you've got about a week, you may also want to check overstock.com. They have a brand on there called Mulholland. This stuff is freaking expensive, but it's reasonable on overstock.com. It comes in bright colors, too -- I have a set of orange myself. I've found it is best to purchase freakish colors -- it's much easier to identify yours rather than if you have a black bag (I've seen many frustrated people at baggage claim trying to determine which bag is theirs).
