Forgive me, but I didn't see any thread talking about when he's coming back. Has Houston media reported anything?

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him back against Atlanta. You know if the Rockets lose that game(and with T-Mac out, that's a distinct possibility), everyone will be screaming for Van Gundy's head. They won't take any chances.

At this point, I don't even want Mcgrady to come back until the Rockets win at least one game without him, just so Mcgrady doesn't lose what little faith he has left in his teammates. I can't even imagine what must be going on his his head right now. He's got to be thinking to himself "Am I really THAT much better off with this supporting cast than the supporting cast in Orlando?"

Please keep him out and tell his teammates that McGrady will come back ONLY when they can win a freakin' game without him.

Everyone on this team is playing pathetic, just no heart and no guts and a team that seems to have given up.

Seriously, what the heck is McGrady going to do other than may be win a few games? I could give a **** if we squeeze out a few wins just so JVG and the team "look good" and not lose their jobs by the end of the season. McGrady's teammates should be doing better than this, they should be playing more like Pheonix and less like Atlanta without their superstar player, afterall we were told that this team was now "deep" and "competitive", so much for that

I won't be satisfied with anything less than wholesale changes of the supporting cast -- everyone except for Swift that is, since I don't think he was such a back pick up in the off-season.

Alston, Anderson, DW, Moochie, all those guys need to be gone by season's end, regardless of outcome, because there will be no "future" with such players on our roster.

it really doesn't matter if TMac returns or not, at this stage. When MJ retired for the first time, his Chicago Bulls still made the playoffs, can you see hopes of this less TMac Rockets team.

    Think hard.

Exactly, people seem to forget that MJ actually had a supporting cast, and a damn good one that accomplished enough without him.

The Rockets' problems run waaaaaaay deeper than McGrady's injury, and even if/when he returns it will simply help to masquerade our problems and won't provide any real long-term solutions to "right the ship".

Again, what's the point? Are we in this to win IT all or to merely have a nice season only to be wiped out in the playoffs?

I don't get it, may be others get a satisfaction from the little things this team does, or may be I am just expecting too much out of them. But I refuse to think that a team with a McGrady/Yao combo should be competing for anything other than a ring.

    May be it's just me

i totally disagree. i think this is a bad team without t-mac, but i think your comment about having "no heart" and "no guts" is totally off base. this team has been in every game in the 4th quarter with the exception of boston. we've played by far the hardest schedule i can remember and it's been mostly on the road. i don't really know how to judge this team right now but i know i'm not calling for anyone's head based on this.

i'll see what happens when t-mac gets back. he's a freaking top-five player people. the intangible levels of confidence and cockiness that he restores to all 11 of his teammates with his presence on the court is huge. i don't like reading too many posts in the garm right now but from what i see there's quite a few classic bbs moments for clutch to put up just like there was last year.

I could care less about the damn season, that's not my gripe. I am talking about a team that is championship material, and this team as is presently constructed ain't it.

As I said, if McGrady comes back healthy and able to play his normal game, and the Rockets make the playoffs higher than a 7 or 8 seed, I don't see how anyone in the league besides him could get the MVP. However, that's not what I am worried about, and I don't see this team as one capable of winning it all, which means -- to me that is -- that change must take place to change that before next season comes around.

    That's my take.

Plain and simple, the rockets don't have a go to player in the 4th and they will continue to lose.
