Why does he suck so badly? He wasn't even this bad in Memphis.

This could be the reason why other rockets suck, realizing how terrible Swift's game is...

His energy has gone down... well, since CD cut his salary by over 50 percent, he's giving also discounted game :D

He needs to be in a more uptempo offense to utilize his talents. He requires lanes to run in and slash. JVG needs to change the scheme up to add him in or its gonna be a long season for Stro. Im going to be sad to see the talent wasted.

Evidently, watching Yao set a half-ass screen for the PG at the top of the key every time down the court hasn't inspired Swift to play harder.

    Gotta love'em Dang'ol Discounts!!!

Does anyone think JVG has it in him to revamp the style once again (like last year) to utilize swift and alston effectively? Please be honest and objective.

I think swift needs to be coached to become a player just like Ben Wallace. Play defense, rebound and dunk the ball if hes wide open. I don't think he has many offensive skills and doesn't have a good outside shot. If he would just get in there and bang and pull down rebounds he would be more beneficial to our team.

Stro is a dunker, I don't think he could play defense like Big Ben does. His rebounding could be better yeah but what he needs to do first is being consistent if he'd like to start for the rockets. Stop talking bull**** about every single player on the team, they're just not playing as a group right now with T-Mac injured.

Stro isn't a "Ben Wallace" kind of player and never has been. This is his 6th year in the NBA and he is what he is. Ben Wallace is a great on ball defender, a great rebounder, has great strength and loves to bang. Swift cannot defend without fouling, has no rebounding instincts, is not that strong and does not bang. You cannot teach a player to be Ben Wallace. He is about as dis-similar to Ben Wallace as a PF can be. You also can't coach a player to have heart. This intangible is what separates players like Ben Wallace from Stro. Stro has had several good coaches and the results have been the same. (You also can't coach intelligence if a player is dumb). It isn't about coaching, it's about the grey matter between Stro's ears!

Compare Stro's line this year to his career averages:

    Career: 21 MPG, 9.0 PTS, 5 REB, FG% 47,
    Y2005: 21 MPG, 8.5 PTS, 4 REB, FG% 47

The best we can probably get from Goofy is a slight improvement on his career averages and fewer boneheaded plays. Before the season, I gave JH a shot at one more decent year (still feel that way). Looks like a starting PF could be an area of need over the summer because Goofy won't pan out. What really makes me mad is we wasted our valuable MLE on such a chump!

Maybe Tracy coming back will make Stro raise his game up a few levels. I still hold out hope. I also haven't given up yet on Rafer.

This post is about venting but tell me where I'm wrong, si vous plait.

tracy just needed someone who could catch his passes near the basket and dunk it (yao can do it but gets stripped a lot or doesnt catch it, mutombo takes an hour to gather himself, and j.ho can't dunk or misses a layup).......and when tracy comes back ppl will like stro a lot better

Yes, this must be it - because he was a stud before he came here. How many All Star games has he been to? I forget. Damn you JVG - you've wrecked another career.

jvg's system (offense) is actually not this crap we're seeing ... he does incorporate high screens, movement away from the ball, and general activity. most of all he expects second chance hustle and good fundamentals... we were a very good team last year and had a good, varied offensive system ...

what we're seeing is none of that ... tmac is a big part of it, but I expect Yao to still set better picks, the guards to still make crisper passes, and the off-ball movement to be more aggressive... our current offense doesn't look to be at the nba level considering the number of mistakes we make and the low scoring...

    swift is pretty bad
