With McGrady, the Rockets offense was in the bottom half of the league (20th, to be precise) in scoring.

Without McGrady, the Rockets offense is among the very bottom in scoring.

The problem with this thinking is that this can be applied to any team in the nba. If we were making shots, we would be winning, if we didn't turnover the ball we would be winning. Every team would be a winner if they executed better. You can't use this as excuse forever.

Sometimes these issues are caused by the coach, at least his offensive philosophy. Sometimes by the players just not being that good.

Under JVG, we have not been a high scoring team. You can point at the end of last year as us scoring better, but we were still at the bottom of the league and we were still plagued by these droughts/quarter of no scoring.

I am not saying that JVG is a bad coach, but we experience far too many of these scoring droughts for it not to be only the fault of the players.

If you think we go through scoring droughts, I would suggest you introduce yourself to the 90's New York Basketball Knickerbockers

That is true, but the offense was very very good from the all-star break on last season. I was anti-Gundy before he got hired and pissed at how he refused to use his players strengths (stevie's in particular) but I gained mad respect as a coach for him last season. With all the new players/changes that the team underwent, not only in the offseason but during the season, he was still able to coach them to 51 wins and an impressive playoff series against a more skilled team. The team still is learning to gel, I truly feel that once (if) T-Mac is healthy, this team will be better than lasts.

This years team are making way too many mistakes, especially uncharistic ones for players like Jon B and Wesley. It's early. I am confident they will pull it together. The season is so long and there is so much time to make up ground.

Our offense started off not so great..last season but then we became a pretty good scoring team by the end of last season.
This season same thing we're struggling. But we haven't had Tmac in some games. We're still meshing and stuff. I have hope and am optimistic that we'll get better gradually eventually. Go Rockets!!
