Sorry...I think they'll be fine and make the playoffs..Tonight proved that. We are all just frustrated and if we don't vent then we hold it in and we'll go to work tomorrow and committ a crime then end up in jail and we'll never get to see the Rockets again.. :D I think we'll round up fine in the WC, Honestly....

I agree. I really think that if you're not smart in the playing center position the opposing players will tire you out with constant banging and pushing. If you try to fight these guys who bang or push you all the time, you'll exert so much energy and tire out sooner. Once you're tired you can't even reach the ball even if it were just 6 inches away. Worse, it's so hard to concentrate on your shot if you out of breath.

For a player playing center, I think a lot of energy is spent when you continuously twitch your body muscles to make your body hard to fight a shove or push and maintain balance. I think Yao should relax most of the time and twitch his muscles only during the moment when he grabs the ball for a rebound or when shooting his shot. Just let his muscles relax when running and twitch the muscles only when to make a sudden burst of speed or change of direction.

His hands should be active in pushing to lessen the impact before other guys bang their bodies on him and twitch his body muscles only during the moment when the other guys body's hits him. This somehow makes the other guys lose his balance especially if you've got your elbows on him. This twitching should only be done in split seconds rather than continuously or else you burn a lot of energy.

I've played center and power forward and I observed that I easily get exhausted while playing center until somehow I learned how to conserve my energy by miniminizing on twitching my muscles only when fighting for position or rebound or when shooting.

Definitely, Rockets trainers know the best techniques but am just sharing my observations based on my own experience.

At least my Longhorns are going to win....Well we have a big positive tonight..HEAD.. I knew he was going to be good. He comes from a solid school and he has played well when JVG has put him in there. T-Mac is the man but we have found a gem in Head and this is not a one game thing..this kid can play. Also, lets give the Mooch some props..he has done better than "Drag to my Lou." Goodnight everyone I'll be back tomorrow night cause I Love my Roxs.... ;)

Luther was unbelievable tonight, really good to see him break out of his shell.

As for Yao, I'm becoming more and more disappointed with his play. With TMac out, we've really needed him to step up, especially during the last stretch of games. He was an absolute no show the 2nd half tonight, he missed the easiest shots and I honestly don't remember him grabbing a single board in the 4th quarter.

Yao really needs to grow a pair.

I dont think I have ever put as many people on my ignore list as I have reading thru this thread tonight.

90% of yall are a bunch of kneejerking whiners.

and for the one that claimed that 98% of the board wants Yao traded...you should correct that to mean 98% of the pople on this board who like to whine and seem to know very little about the game.

Im gonna leave it at that before I start ranting about the crap in here...I cant even bear to be in the GARM tonight.

The entire thread is criticism/constructive criticism of Yao combined with some emotion.

One guy said 98% of the people here agree that yao sucks, not that yao should be traded. But, I think he meant to say that 98% of the people here learned that Yao is not a go to guy when the game is on the line. At least thats how I feel about it.

So, what's Yao up to now, 19.7 points per game? 8 rebounds? 2 blocks? I'll take it. Plus, unlike others who average this much, Yao is constantly double and triple-teamed. Watching the Dallas game proved this. Yes, he made some bone-headed plays, but still, we kept it close against one of the best teams in the league. Matter of fact, we did this against Indiana and Detroit, as well. I was mad as hell about the New Orleans and Orlando losses- to me, there was just no excuse for those. But face it- we have one of our toughest stretches of the schedule at the same time as our best player is out. The stars just didn't align right for us this year. I have a feeling, though, that like last year, things will work out. Maybe we won't get the 4th seed, but we'll make the playoffs and then we'll just have to see.

I really do think they played well, a few mistakes aside. And rather than bash Yao, let's show some support. "Better to light a candle than curse the darkness." (Raising Arizona)

Yao is a terrific player in spurts. He just can't do it the whole game. Last year, Yao made 65% of his shots in "crunch time" according to 82games.com. He was terrific in the 4th quarter.

Last year, with TMac at the helm of the pick-and-roll, and Yao finishing, they were nearly unstoppable. This year, they're barely even running it, and certainly not with TMac and Yao on either end. Yao just goes directly to the low post, sets a pick when he doesn't get the ball, then goes to the other block and starts the process all over again. With TMac out, they have to do this EVERY TIME, and obviously, Yao can't handle it.

relax guys...take a deep breath...and forget about the record right now, it's meaningless if the team gets it's act together after T-Mac comes back.

Until then...take a loss with a grain of salt and some liquor if you have to.

It's true. You ever see any fat marathoners?

If you're using Shaq as the basis of your argument that Yao's stamina shouldn't suck, keep in mind that Shaq is a once-in-a-lifetime physical specimen. Nobody his size has ever been that big, strong, quick, and athletic. Probably only Wilt Chamberlain was better in those respects. Yao clearly doesn't possess the natural physical abilities of those two, but at least he has some skills.

If Shaq were just 6'6", he'd probably still dominate. He'd be like Amare or maybe even Barkley.
