I really think it is his stamina problem causing so many turnovers in the second half.

Well, this game definitely fell on Yao and our PF's. Juwan's defense is like a Dang'ol Teddy Bear guarding a Mack Truck.

Swift just doesn't seem like he tries ALL the time (which is annoying all the same)

And Yao, yes he's playing more minutes, but the fact that he looks like a 7'6 decoy out there every game in the 2nd half is really annoying.

Why can't he just bring that Dang'ol intensity in the 2nd half?

KG for YAO....and thats not a sick joke but a certain Championship...We can play Mutombo and Swift in the middle..Only problem is that Minn would not be that dumb to make that trade.....

Vince Carter is half man, half amazing

Yao's half man, half a game

Just kidding, he'll come back strong next time

Well is this JVG"s fault for not rationing his minutes or Yao's fault for not overcoming that?

I think they already have... no longer is it Yao Ming 24/7 for Rockets promotions. Hell... they don't even come close to selling out any of their games anymore.

The organization knows that winning is the only thing that can really get the fans in the seats.

You have to convince Les first, which I doubt will happen seeing how he gave Yao the max this summer.

Nonsense. Atlanta's gotta get four wins first.

I'm not saying that won't happen; I'm just saying that's what Atlanta's gotta do first. :p

I have been one of the biggest Yao supporters but so far this year he has been really disappointing. I can't figure out for the life of me why he can't rebound and it's just killing us. However, it seemed like we did play much better tonight. I think Head is gonna be awesome.

Finally, the Rockets offense gets going. And finally, Luther Head gets some real playing time (ok, so he got some last game, too), and look what happens! Looking like a good first round pick right about now! We still don't have anyone who can guard Terry though.

At least we didn't get blown out, and at least we looked like a team tonight! Good effort, guys!

Unfortunately, this is not a problem that gets better with age. Remember, since Yao is still in his mid-20's, a lot of the problems that plague older players (tendonitis, back aches) have yet to get to him...

Yao's value is dropping fast....unfortunately, we are stock with him for a while to come. the potential is there. but he is a big pansy.

At this point, Yao is nothing more than just a very good complimentary player. He is definitely NOT a franchise player. We have ONE franchise player on this team and it's Tracy. Anyone who argues otherwise is hopeless. Some much for the "breakout" season he was having after playing the Kings and Hornets. I hate to say it, but I told you it would take more time to evaluate his progress.

That said, I predict Yao will play his best ball late in the season and he will be improved over last year. Don't give up on him because he will be a Rockets for several seasons to come. He'll have some great games this year along with duds like these.

macfan, Stromile Swift and Einstein don't belong in the same sentence. When Yao takes ill advised 3 pointers in close games, I'll put his IQ in the same category as Stro's. Right now, Stro needs a brain transplant. 4 fouls in his first 7 minutes and he ended up fouling out in 19 minutes? I'm starting to wonder if Stro is salvageable.

Luther's breakout game makes this loss bearable. I want to see how he connects with Tracy now that they will get a lot of court time together.

I agree with that. The guy always had people telling him what to do. He really needs to make up his mind, what he really wants to do with his height and skills, how to play his advantages. Forget about the coach, refs, parents, country, people whatever, just play for his own pride. I still believe he has that in him. I don't mind seeing the media humilating him, dissing him, maybe that will be a wake up call. All popularity, marketing, humor or nice guy image are just nothing. In NBA, you have to play hard and tough, play for yourself only, screw everybody else. I hope he will make up his mind, but he doesn't have much time left.

Right on. You hit the Dang'ol right on the Dang'ol.

Rebounding has killed the Rockets this year. I actually believe the Rox could have pulled this one out (despite YAO) if they would have gotten the defensive rebounds.

Just think, i can think of atleast 3 critical times where the Mavs missed a shot but they got a 2nd chance and got either a 3-point play or 3-pointer out of it.

That kind of mishap drains a team like the rockets because they work so hard to force a miss or bad shot, but then give them a 2nd or 3rd chance.

    Guess you can't teach rebounding.

The team could give a **** as far as having sell-outs every game, the real money is from other venues, mainly media/merchandise and stuff like that.

Yao is a cash cow for Les Alexander, and that makes him the one player with the most job security in the league.

So like it or not, not even KG-for-Yao trade would be plausible for this organization. A smart businessman like Les knows who's most responsible for filling his pockets.
