I think the poll shows that people think the Rockets are down and stagnant, that they need an injection of life to change their momentum. Spree won't be a cure-all, but the change of pace might do wonders. Remember when Sura came in last year? Something like that. I think Sprewell is probably as good as a healthy Bob Sura. That being said, signing Spree would be a direct shot at DA - you're essentially saying that he can't get the job done. I'm sure JVG thinks that it's too early to send that message. I think that signing a free agent like that, then keeping him on a short leash, might make the Rockets look bad to other potential free agents down the road.
With Spree on the team, we'd go straight to the bottom of the Western Conference standings. No thanks.
na he'd come back rusty and not make an impact, take strickland, oakley mark jackson, no more exknicks please
Sprewell is basically the same player as Derek Anderson. They're both shooting guards who have relied on their athleticism their entire careers. Now that their athleticism is gone, they're not nearly as effective. I wouldn't expect Sprewell to perform any better here than DA has thus far.
I don't want him, nor do I think he is the answer to any of our problems. We need instant offense. Spree doesn't have that anymore, or least not with any consistancy.
sam was injured last year and struggled with his fitness. what was latrell's excuse? it's time to retire spree.
<a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/standings;_ylt=AiOPo1isuhaf4vmDjYhXTnW8vLYF">We're already there</a>, and have been for a week or so.
Rasheed is one of the best PF's in the league. He only got a bad rap for not controlling his emotions on the court, getting upset at refs. I don't recall him having major trouble with teammates and coaches and B!tching about $ to feed his family. Spree is a washed up me me me me guy. That's the last thing this team needs. The Spurs should sign him so he and Carlisimo can choke one another.
