BBSers - any of y'all have NBA Insider for ESPN? there's an article on there by Chris Sheridan about the KG trade rumors... please post! thanks.
I have insider and read the article. But yeah, what he said ^^^^^ KG for Wallace and Darko... I remember on this very board there being a rumor for Both Wallaces for KG, don't know if there was any truth behind those truths or not. Basically, thats the only reasonable trade I think Detriot can offer Minny. Anything else just doesn't make sense for either team (all though I'm not sure that makes much sense for Detriot)
Huh? Darko and Wallace? The current Insider article references the New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves in a deal involving KG. That seems almost as preposterous as the Rockets getting KG, as far as I can tell, but who knows.
which article did you read? the one on the main page says: Chris Sheridan says Kevin Garnett could be a Knick by early '06.

I read them both, my bad. Forgot that the NYK thing was posted on the main page. I mentioned the Detriot rumor because it made more sense....yeah the Knick thing....don't even know what could be offered.
the knicks have ending contracts to offer. however, i think the wolves might want something promissing for the future, not just cap space.
mavs have ending contracts, plus promising talent. bold prediction: josh howard, stackhouse, jason terry, and keith van horn for garnett and wally world.
The Wolves Are Not Shopping Garnett KG's frustration with how things went sour this past year have set off a ridiculous amount of trade rumors, with two major problems being ignored: 1) He has not asked for a trade, according to any account or (credible) rumor. 2) McHale and Taylor would rather sip on lead ink than move the face of their franchise for cents on the dollar. No, San Jose Mercury News, Jason Richardson and Troy Murphey are not enticing as trade bait. No, Sam Smith, Kirk Hinrich and Loul Deng are not going to net you this HOF PF. No, Isiah, Penny Hardaway and Malik Rose aren't worth Andre Miller, let alone an all-NBA first teamer in his prime. The Pistons aren't even thinking about it, since they have a championship nucleus and chemistry that is peaking. All the garbage about getting Garnett in a fire sale is ridiculous. The Wolves are going to do what anyone with an iota of common sense is going to do. They'll send Garnett flowers and candy, tell him how much they care about him, how upsetting the situation is to them as well, and how they're going to break their backs to give him a legit roster to work with. All this will happen while he's getting his company-bought 5-person massage and pedicure. They are going to shop Kandi and Wally like never before. They will trade every draft pick they can and no one will be off-limits in trade talks. They will desperately try to get Steve Francis, Paul Pierce, Andre Miller, anyone that might be available. You have to understand, a deal that moves KG but keeps the team competitive is not going to be good enough. Moving the face of the franchise, the only guy who's worthy of having his number in the Target Center rafters, will spark an outrage in Minneapolis and a mass exodus of season ticket holders. This guy means as much to them as Dream meant to us. The only possible way they could deal KG and stay in business would be if they get a box office all-star like Iverson in return. And I doubt Philly is looking for a KG-Webber combo. Evan
Solid logic Evan but I still say there is a chance KG is traded next summer. It's crazy to suggest a trade would happen during the season. If the Wolves decide to let KG go, they will get plenty of offers if they take their time.
