what makes you so sure that yao didn't talk to his teammates and/or jvg?! for all we care from last two games alone yao did get plenty of touched in the second half. is that because what he complained?

besides, complaining to some chinese media (if it was true) without naming any player is totally different from calling a paticular teammate out in the local press. the former, to yao ming at least, is more like venting his frustration to his folks. while the latter, is criticizing someone behind his back. i don't believe for a second yao ming is that low.

This doesn't sit well with me and if I was a teammate of Yao I think it would irk me more than a bit.

I admit that it is possible that Yao may have tried confronting his teammates already. Possible, but not probable. Just look at Yao's interaction with his teammates on the court. He very rarely expresses displeasure and I don't remember the last time he seriously chastised a teammate after a broken play.

I also don't think Yao is "low" for going to the Chinese media. This is the first time Yao has done this while other NBA players have done this frequently. While I disapprove of the act itself, I recognize that this is an aberration and not Yao's usual habit.

It is probably NOT Yao's intent to embarrass his teammates and a lot of this is caused by frustration. Yao is a nice guy and sometimes nice guys have trouble telling his friends what they need to hear. There is nothing wrong with Yao calling for the ball more. I merely disagree with the method by which Yao is expressing himself.

Strikes me that one of the Rox problems is how they handle kickouts from Yao. According to the pricipals of Rudyball, if Yao is doubled, there is a shooter open on the weak side. This Rockets team does not seem to have a handle on this - you never see the crisp passes around to the open shooter on the weakside. It seems like they are looking for the repost, not an open shooter.

Is this what Gumby is telling them to do, or is the team just "not executing"?

I've noticed this problem as well. The post feeder always looked confused when Yao passes the ball out again. There's no quick swing to the weak side or a quick refeed of the post. Man I wish Robert Horry were here.

Hakeem used to do this all the time.....good for Yao...

He is the only decent player on the team right now.

Let's not get carried away. He talked about the Spurs game, and he was right. He sucked tonight, big time, but that doesn't mean whatever he said in the past was wrong. Let's close this chapter about the Spurs game, and move on. Let's go back to the game thread, enough fire there:)

And this is why Yao shouldn't be calling out teammates ESCPECIALLY to the blinded Chinese media.

Why does JVG have yao setting picks on the guards? You know how much energy that takes away from him. WHy not just have him get a good solid position in the paint and make some easy buckets. What is a YOF and ROF?
