Just when you thought movies based on video games couldn't get any worse...

Ya know... I've just always had a hard time buying the "tiny, thin petite girl can kick ass" concept.

"Hi. I'm beautiful. I'm 5' 2". I weigh 104 lbs. But somehow my punches are capable of bringing down the 6' 5" 280 lb, muscle-clad weightlifter."

 

All movies based on video games went downhill after Mario Brothers and Streetfighter, those were 2 of the best movies ever made.

Who would have thought a movie with John Lequizamo (sp?) and Bob Hoskins would be so successful? But of course, we knew Streetfighter was gonna be a hit when the hired Van Damne to play an American Colonel.

 

Mortal Kombat wasnt that bad..

 

I miss the old days when they had movies like "Tron". Now that was a great movie... in fact, I hope they do a re-make of that movie.

 

That was back in the good ole days when a good movie spawned a video game. Now its the other way around and it doesn't even have to be a good game.

 

Damn. What's gonna happen to action movies once Jackie Chan and Jet Li retires?

 

I always thought Tron the game came first, my mistake.

Frequency wasn't bad.

Then again, it wasn't based off the video game.

I think Mortal Kombat is the only 'good' one. The Wizard was classic, but not based off any video game.
I think double dragon had a movie too?
Did doom come out yet or did it already flop in the theatre?
Final fantasy was expected to be good, but good animation does not a good movie make.

There is also a dirth of movies that have been made into good video games.

addition: just saw the preview, looks like charlies angels+kill bill+three ninjas. and that asian girl who was in 2fast2furious and sin city is ugly and can't act, there are so many better looking asian american women out there, and if they are going to have a maximum of three in hollywood, they better be good looking. I don't know how she gets these roles....oh wait, I do know, her daddy owns the Benihana restaurant chain so he gets her the boost.

 

I like this one better.
