Anybody see the Fox 26 news today with Berman. JVG basically called out all his players and especially David Wesley. He said David Wesley didn't have a good preseason and start to the season which are facts. Then Berman interviewed Wesley and he was pissed about those comments. He said he had no comment. JVG is also choose to start Wesley because he hasn't played well off the bench which makes no sense. This could intersting.

I wouldn't appreciate that either if I were DW. If nothing else, that guy is all effort and hustle, and JVG calling him out like that would be classless and asking for trouble.

Just because the guy is down on his luck now doesn't mean that he should be called out on the media like that.

I am on DW's side on this one, IF the story is true.

Wesely is paid good money to knock down the looks he currently is getting.Personally i would rather see the rox sort it out in a little more classy fashion, but heck, some people need a public roasting to get there act together.

Last ditch attempt to light a fire under DW's ass?

Yup - seemed like it worked too. Sadly, the rest of the team is playing like crude. This team looks a lot like last years this time last season....

I wonder if the new guys are just having trouble adjusting...

More like they don't fit the team's needs.

The only guy I like out of those three guys we signed is Swift -- the rest I am disappointed with/indifferent to.

That and there's no offense. With T-MAC missing in action, no one is really running the offense. They're all a bunch of role players designed to feed off of T-Mac. Yao can only do much and he'll be more effective when he stops making so many turnovers.

you bet, rip into him, look for a response and then give him the minutes to execute the response and perform, 13, 7,6 are certainly better from Wes

I have to say I was very happy with Wesley's play last night. 13,7,6 from hime is very nice. Playing the "PG" role on offense he did a nice job getting people the ball in the right spots. He isnt going to break people down off the dribble, nor is he going to drive the lane and kick the pass, but he gets people the ball in their locations. And Wesley seemed to be more "in the flow" of the game which helped his jumper.

Honestly, what we saw from Wesley last night was very similar to what we got from Sura. It was a stabilizing influence at the PG spot and we got results. Alston just looks to hesitant out there and it is hurting his game.

Whatever JVG needs to do to jump start the backcourt I am all for!

I think they will be ok - most players tend to struggle at first under JVG's system.

    Right on!

I'm a big Wesley's fan, the guy is a tough cookie, never back down from anything. What we have seen was that Wesley has been reduced to a spot-up shooter with the Rockets, which he is not. He always had the ball in his hand a lot when he was with the Hornet, he needs to get comfortable to shoot the ball, not just catch and shoot.

We all know David is our best 1on1 defender, but last night, he played a role he was comfortable with, and he showed what he is capable of doing when he was put in that situation.

Wesley is playing better than most of our guards right now. I would rather have him out there than Anderson or Alston. He has been hustling harder than the other guards lately.

JVG knows what he is doing. He never once uttered a negative word about Steve, Cuttino, or especially Cato because of how mentally fragile they were. He got on Yao pretty hard two years ago because he knew Yao could take it.

Wesley is a bulldog. This was simply to light a fire under his ass and he responded in due fashion last night.

The media seems to be JVG's way of trying to deliver his players a wake up call. He has always called guys out in the media. He is not afraid to tell it like it is, it is a way of lighting a fire under the guys asses, and in this case i think wesley needed that swift kick in the rear look what he did last night.
