Websites Gone Wild This is great, though. You know how much web business their losing right now. These are like denial of service attacks except by real consumers hitting it all at once.
Once the load decreases by frustrated consumers leaving, then it may be light enough to get an order in. It may be a few hours, though. LOL
I got close too "Are You a Registered Member" Is the closest I got. Apparently it will kick you out after a while The sad thing is I got 2 other people trying to help me at home.
Lol...now it says their closed. Edit: I got a page that said they were closed and were updating their site with exciting new products and information. Then, it started doing the same thing where it loads blank pages and loads session timeout pages.
I got all the way to submitting from where you choose your shipping method and enter your billing address...then...CRASH!!!!
i got to put in my CC and went to an orderReview URL, no page showing...um did it take my order or not???
yeah i am worried that i'll put in my cc info then have it crash... do you re-enter or hope it went thourgh... you may risk buying two units...
My guess is they rebooted their servers, gave some people a shot to get in. If you got pretty far, in the ordering process you may want to check your email. I experienced this ordering some limited jordans. It took my cc and everything then crapped out, but I checked my email and had an order comfirmation and they came.
This ranks #1 by far as the gayest experience I've ever had shopping on the web. If you'll can keep crashing the website until after midnight, then I can pull an all-nighter and order you all xboxes when everyone has to go to sleep. Then, you can re-imburse me and I will ship them out to you.
I'm almost scared to ask what your other experiences were... BTW, this thread is great comic relief for me.
I thought when I did this for a PS2 back in college, that it would have been the last time I did such a thing for a video game... Now I am 26 and doing it from the office... I'm hopeless!
If you can't keep your site up, then remove the damn links so people can still shop and buy other stuff. It's obvious that reboots and cycling services or whatever the hell their doing isn't working. I'm sure they ran a bunch of load tests to prepare for this debacle. Hell...half of the free world is trying to order from CC right now.
